Sweetharts Bakery & Coffee Shop, Consett

We went in here on 10/08/24 for breakfast and it was truly amazing, from the second you walk in it smells amazing from the fresh cooked breakfast and the home made breads and pastries which you can but to takeaway.
We had a full English breakfast and avocado Benedict which were both out of this word, we had fresh orange and earl grey tea which accompanied the food perfect.
We waited around 20 minutes for the food but this tells you that it’s cooked fresh and when it came you could tell the quality of their produce.
The young girls working in there are so polite and attentive which goes a long way.
We also bought some of their amazing cakes and their bread is to die for especially their fresh Cooked ciabatta bread.

Amazing breakfast, I got the eggs Benedict with bacon and my sister got the avocado toast with bacon and poached eggs. Decent prices, very nicely decorated cafe, good atmosphere. We got a couple of banoffee tarts to take home.

Ah-mazing breakfast! Staff were quick and friendly. Place looks fantastic, loved the little booths and all the decor. I definitely need to come back here again!

The bakery is warm and welcoming, with great pictures of Consett and Blackhill from older times.

Been waiting to get in here for a while..went on the off chance and i wasnt disappointed, great service and the confectionery was to die for..a real gem and a defo must visit. Free car park over the rd aswell..12/10 from me and i will definitely be back again very soon..You can book ahead of your visit and i suggest you do, its been extremely busy in the past when we have been. ps we just had cake & tea but will have a meal nxt time the meals looked epic, Enjoy 😉

Bread, cakes etc are all freshly baked everyday by award winning baker. Nicely decorated with pictures from the local area. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Highly recommended and well worth the trip.

First time visiting but will definitely come back. Good food, great chips, friendly and pleasant welcoming staff. Looking forward to one of the delicious looking desserts. Friendly atmosphere.

Really great place.
A good range of breakfast food and generous portions. Perhaps the best Key Lime Pie I have ever tasted and I’ve had a few. Nice atmosphere friendly staff and good looking comfortable place, a piece of heaven

We love to stop in and get their homemade hasbrowns hash. My husband and I share because there is alot. So many selections of sweets!!! Nice menu options as well. Would maybe suggest a reservation as they can become busy at times. But we have never been turned away from just walking in. Great customer service. Oh, and cannot forget the beautiful baked breads.

Superb bakery and café/ eatery. Had an amazing cooked breakfast today. Generous portions, excellent quality ingredients, cooked very well. A wide range of options available all day. Took the opportunity to buy some of the excellent bakery products that they make themselves - stotties, fresh bread, cakes, custard tarts, strawberry tarts, tea cakes and various meat pies to transport them to friends and family 200 miles away. The team serving is brilliant. Beats any chain café hands down. Thank you!

Just had afternoon tea with my friend and it was lovely Sandwiches,scones with jam and clotted cream, 5 cakes and tea or coffee everything tasted beautiful and cakes are light and moist would highly recommend this cafe

My daughter and I went there for breakfast this morning. I will be honest, I had not been since before the 1st lockdown, and it was great to be back! I loved the new deco, and the food was as delicious as ever. The staff were as friendly as ever too! We will be back before long, that's for sure. I recommend going at 9am too - lovely and quiet. I am so lucky to be able to walk there from my house, but if you can't there is parking close by.

This is a lovely warm and friendly place to visit.
The menu is simple to view and the homecooked food is amazing.
The old school puddings take me back to senior school and are very reasonably priced.
It's advisable to book in advance

Ive had takeaway and eaten in and food is beautiful and the quiches are delicious definitely the best in town, a bit pricey but as they say you get what you pay for and it's definitely worth it,

Excellent homemade food with plenty to offer for all tastes including plenty of gluten free options too. Staff are lovely and they even have cakes, breads etc to buy and take home. You can even book in for afternoon tea. Such a lovely atmosphere with family at the heart of it all xxx

Lovely place to have a cuppa and a bite to eat. Very friendly, great service. The eggs benedict is delicious. Also lovely local produce to buy and take home.

Went for breakfast today and can most defiantly say I was not disappointed. The food was excellent and very well cooked . and so was the service. The prices can seem a little expensive but you get what you pay for . Very clean surrounds great food and excellent service . A little gem in the community . Will Deffo return . 😊😊

Just popped in for some takeaway drinks. Staff were lovely, young lady who made my vanilla milkshake was so nice and the milkshake was divine (and was the best cream she'd done to date apprently :D ) will definitely be back to sample some of the beautiful cakes we could see on display.
