We stayed at the Blue Boar following our wedding. We ended up hiring out all the bedrooms. The rooms were lovely and were very clean. The assistant manager was very helpful and accommodating in helping us organise a post wedding brunch at the venue. About 40 people on mass arrived for our brunch and the chef and waiting staff did an INCREDIBLE job in accommodating all the orders and looking after us all. We are very grateful for their help and service. The food was all delicious and well presented too. Thank you for helping make the wrap up of our wedding so special. 👏

On of the best welcomes I have received.

After cancelling a poor hotel experience nearby, we arrived at the Blue Boar and we were met by Steve who was super nice.

The whole experience was 10/10 and not only was the room clean, tidy and perfect but the restaurant was so good with great wines and great food, especially the pizza and the Bread & Butter pudding.

Will definitely come back!

PS: ask Steve for Blenheim Palace recommendations.

We came into the pub for a family birthday and a little nightcap. Ended up ordering cocktails. Staff were amazing, really kind and looked after us well.

Would highly recommend this place. Our Ozzy family loved it which made it all the more special.

If you’re after a great choice of cocktails served by a friendly team this is a great place to visit.

Wow! We had the Sunday special roast lamb. It was spectacular. Beautifully cooked. Well presented. Hugely generous portions. It looks expensive on the menu but it’s worth every penny. Friendly helpful service too. A great experience.

Our 10 day stay at the Blue Boar Witney was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were met with warmth and professionalism from the exceptional staff team. Their relaxed yet professional demeanor immediately puts you at ease, and it was evident that nothing was too much trouble for them. The level of service provided by the hotel team was unparalleled, and we were truly impressed by their friendliness, patience, and eagerness to assist us throughout our stay.

We found our room to be immaculately clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. The attention to cleanliness and the cozy ambiance of the room made it a joy to retreat to after a day of either working or exploring the town and surrounding places of interest. Housekeeping pays extra attention to detail. Amazing!

In fact, we were so blown away by the outstanding service that we would like to nominate the entire staff for an award. Their dedication to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of their guests is commendable and deserves recognition.

We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Witney.

Had such a wonderful stay at the Blue Boar. After a very poor check in experience at a nearby hotel, which caused us to cancel and abandon the booking, we arrived at the Blue Boar. Steve was incredibly welcoming, helpful, friendly and looked after us so well throughout the stay. The food at the restaurant was delicious, particularly the pizza!! Would highly recommend staying here :)

Took my family there on a Friday afternoon.
Lovely location with a large outside area, staff is friendly and precise.
Great pub food with a gourmet touch.
The porchetta was presented not unlike a british roastbeef (with baby carrots, potato mash, gravy and all), but was unmistakably roman porchetta, tender with crunchy skin around it.
Previously I had tried the excellent ‘Nduja calzone but i think that’s no longer on the menu, although they still make the equivalent pizza.

Our family came for dinner here last money evening with our Dog and were greeted with a lovely warm and friendly welcome. Martha loved sitting by the open fire and we all enjoyed our meals, my Caesar Salad was delicious.
The gentleman, Steve, who served us was very friendly and attentive without being overbearing.
We enjoyed it so much, the boys and Martha returned with friends on Friday for another meal!
Will 100% be recommending to friends and family!

Had a wonderful night at The Blue Boar last night. The food was lovely, the drinks flowed well and the staff were attentive. The table next us were exceptionally rude to the staff all night and they all remained calm and unflustered throughout. Fantastic customer skills!

I believe I was meant to be an “Englnder” because I fall more in love with all its spectacular offerings every visit. Upon my visit this Christmas holiday we ventured into Whitney. My daughter is aware of the most spectacular places to shop, dine and have a beverage. The “Blue Boar” was one of those places. Our starter, beverages. I had the “Passion Fruit Martini”, my daughter the “Espresso Martini”. Divine. We ordered “sharing plates”. Amazingly delicious. The service was friendly, quick and with a smile. A grand lunch indeed. Loved that they allow dogs in with their families. The restaurant has the comfortable English feel. Truly an enjoyable experience. I’ll return for another lunch on my next holiday! Thank you for good service and delicious food.

Excellent food & excellent service. Went for my daughters birthday, they couldn't do enough for us, even down to fairy lights on the table!

Love the blue boar for a few pints in the summer or a lovely red wine in the winter. Really nice atmosphere and lovely outside seating area. Great pub for drinks.

Wonderful brunch service for a bride! We were a large party so food was slow to arrive, but the kindness of the staff and coffees/ and a free bucks fizz for the bride was greatly appreciated! Highly recommend - and Steve was very kind!

We had our first date here and have been coming back ever since. Reasonable food prices and tasty meals. Our favourite dish is the chicken and mushroom pasta. The staff is very friendly. Even when they are especially full, they are kind enough to find us a table. Love the specials menu! I really appreciate the Blue Boar.
