Salt Fish and Chips

What a find!

On our way home from a week away, we stumbled upon Salt.

Lovely seated service (they have take away too), lovely staff, nice surroundings and one of the best fish and chip meals I've had to date. Tasty fish, lightly battered, clean golden chips, and a sweet but spicy curry sauce. Yum!

If we come back this way, we'll look to come back!

We visited for the first time this evening and will definitely be back. The chips were fab and gravy just as it should be- thick!! There was a mix up with our meals but the staff put it right straight away and were attentive and friendly. Lovely interiors and atmosphere and generous portions that are great quality. Thank you Salt 🥰

Have been looking forward to trying out Salt for a while and me and my family finally ate in last night as a table of 8. Great decor, good atmosphere and bang on fish and chips with lots of other options if you wanted something different & extra effort was clearly made on the presentation of all dishes. Looking forward to supporting Salt further and watching them grow, we will all definitely be back!

Friendly staff were chatty and happy to help.
Chips were lovely and the small cod was battered perfectly. No excess. Just crispy coating.
The butcher's sausage was really nice too.
Sitting on the grass or one of the many benches overlooking the beach is exactly how fish and chips should be enjoyed! Would definitely recommend this as a standard treat when you visit the beach or the kids play area.
The large car park is free to use and the whole area, though very dog friendly, is very clean and tidy. Plenty of bins, nearby shop for bucket and spades etc.
Right in a coastal path that is a nice walk or cycle and gives some nice sea views.
Can see across to the Isle of Man at the right time of day.

The chip shop looks soon to be joined by an ice cream parlor on the corner and once this is stated up and once the chippy get their in-store tables set up and ready to use this will be a lovely place to sit and eat in.

I had freshly made Haddock and chips. And a pot of tea. The fish was nicely cooked and the batter complimented the flavour of the fish. It also came with a large helping of mushy peas and tartar sauce. The tea was in a pot filled with loose leaf tea in a strainer. It actually tasted like tea... The food arrived in good time and waitress was welcoming. I should definitely be returning. 👍

Called into Salt. Had Whale of cod, chips, curry sauce for 2.
With out of a shadow of doubt the perfectly cook fish we have eaten. White and meaty cod in the lightest, crispy batter you could wish for. Chips perfectly cooked for dipping in the curry sauce. Thank you Salt. P.S went back for scampi & chips. The icing on the cake.

Had small gluten free cod and chips was really nice and the right size portion. Husband tried the pea fritter. Was more like a ball of mushy peas lol. Very friendly staff and what a lush location.

Visited here for lunch. We both got smokey sausage with chips and I can honestly say they were the best chips and smokey sausage we've had! Chips were perfectly done and not greasy at all, and the sausage was 'proper' sausage, not like a normal chippy one. Fantastic! We were served really quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going back 😋

Very good fish and chips. We arrived later in the evening and we were given huge portions of chips too.

Also had a good vegetarian option in the sausages for my partner as well.

We got takeaway but the restaurant looked very nice to sit in as well.

Probably the best fish and chips we've had, certainly for a very long time. Sat by the sea and savoured every mouthful. Crispy batter, not greasy, chips were beautifully crisp outside and soft and fluffy inside. And the homemade tartare sauce.. Awesome!

Lovely friendly place, best fish pie I’ve ever had , the scallops stater and baked sea bass main were also both excellent.

A fantastic new fish and chip shop that sells excellent quality fish, chips and many other things that are all properly hand made. Not only are they fantastically done and tasty but they also sell most things with a Gluten free option. A new fav...!

Recently tried the new fish & chip takeaway in Seascale, SALT and it was fantastic! The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and the place was clean & stylishly decorated. Highly recommend!

As an American I didn’t quite know what to expect but it was absolutely wonderful. The food and service and atmosphere were all top notch.

Brilliant freshly cooked food and a lovely chef who was kind enough to help an elderly woman down the steps. Rare to see such people with the kindness and commitment towards his customers.

Just had the small haddock and chips with curry sauce. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had honestly. Fish was perfectly cooked. Perfect Christmas treat at a blustery beach!!

Absolutely brilliant haddock and chips. All cooked fresh. Plenty of choice for veggies/ GF. Lots of homemade offerings.
There was a big queue, but happy to wait as it’s clearly a sign of how popular it is.
We would definitely return if we visit the area again.

Without question the best quality fish and chips I have had for a long time. The keyword here is QUALITY. If you want the cheapest then go somewhere else, but if you want the best quality then Salt is the place for you. The fish was so fresh and tasty , chips cooked to perfection and the staff extremely friendly. Perfect👍

Some of the nicest fish and chips we've had in a long time. Extremely fresh and flavoursome.
Our 6yr old said the chicken nuggets were the best she's ever had! We'll be back again very soon.

Despite it being very busy the staff were friendly and efficient. Had the best fish and chips that we've had in a long while. Husband had a small cod & chips, which was very generous and included a small pot of mushy peas and I had a small haddock. The batter was scrummy and crispy and the fish was so succulent. Definetely going back here when we are next in Seascale.
