We had an amazing evening meal at the Bustard Inn the night before our wedding. We previously contacted Lesley and made her aware of our occasion and booked a large table for 15 of us, she was so attentive and helpful from the booking process through to the evening itself! The team really helped us to feel relaxed and made the experience really special! Not only that, but the food was delicious, amazing quality and also generous portion sizes! Can’t thank the guys here enough for providing a wonderful place for ourselves and our family to eat the night before our wedding and for making us feel so welcome and special! I just wish we lived closer so we could visit more regularly

We had a lovely experience at The Bustard Inn, the staff was very friendly and made the whole experience special. We sat both outdoors and indoors, the indoor atmosphere was very intimate and perfect for a date night. We had the specials on the day which was a pork and bacon pie which turned out to be really good. The portions are quite hefty and great value for money!!

I had the pleasure of having lunch with a friend last Sunday. We both really appreciate good food and we were not disappointed. My starter was sublime in taste, modern but not predestined in terms of ingredients. (Mushrooms on toast) main course: beef rump steak, equally tasty and juicy. Perfect portions of dishes. If it were possible, I would give the service 6 stars. I haven't felt so welcome in a restaurant for a long time. The interior design is quite austere, but warmed by light. Lots of space. I recommend and will definitely come back to try the evening dishes

There are lots of good pubs, but very few great ones. This is that rare beast! Lovely staff, delicious food, drinks to lift your spirits, the most gorgeous beer garden I've been in for a long time, spotless loos... It really doesn't put a foot wrong.

Perfect venue for our wedding. Lesley and the team are amazing and work so hard to make sure all of your needs are met. They go the extra mile and make everything super special. The food and venue is to die for. You cannot ask for more. We will be back regularly!

Very, very good. This refurbished and updated (in 2007) gastro pub has a lovely, high-end feel to it, without being too posh. The staff is pleasant, genuine, and caring. Nice drink selections as well! Music selection didn't seem to fit, but not off-putting.

The food is exceptional, yet, based on a few personal preferences, there were slightly minor disappointments with each dish. All were presented beautifully!

The scallop starter was cooked perfectly, yet there was an unexpected sticky texture on the seared sides. The chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but were a nice pop of heat. The acid from the grapefruit mixed oddly with the ?parsley? mayonnaise drizzle, but both were tasty. Some either flash-frozen or dry-iced greens gave nice texture, and the dish as a whole was nice.

The duck egg starter was rich without being heavy. Slow cooked (assuming sous vide), the egg was perfect. It was on a bed of slow-cooked cow cheek, which is crave-worthy! A few pickled mushrooms added nice acid contrast as well. The brioche slice it all sat on was not my favourite, but again may be personal preference. It seemed too thick, dense, and sweet for the dish. Either a nice sourdough or airy wheat slice would have been my choice. Again, a very delicious dish.

The halibut main was absolutely wonderful! Poached in butter, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with roe, and squid-ink pasta...all topped with dill fronds. Only minor critique was the toughness of the tips of the braised fennel without a knife suitable for cutting through.

A unique and very enjoyable experience! Loved it.

Highly recommend. Food tasty and service faultless. High standard for pub food, although perhaps a little pricey but worth it for the quality. There is a light lunch option, which we had - smaller portions at a lower price which means that you can sample more than one dish when you don't want a big meal. Pleasant beer garden and very nice inside, facilities well maintained and clean. Lots of parking space. We will definitely return.

The team at the Bustard are incredible. We got married on Thursday 8th June 2023 and there was not one moment i felt stressed from booking our wedding to the day itself. Every member of staff went above and beyond for us.
I cannot recommend enough. Nip in for a quick drink or a meal you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful pub with plenty of space, good access for all and the cleanest neatest toilets in pub history. The food was incredible, packed with flavour, high quality ingredients and great presentation. A warm welcoming atmosphere with a good selection of drinks both fridged and on tap. Friendly helpful staff/owners and gorgeous decor. Highly recommended! This venue also does weddings and is well worth a look if you're planning a wedding in the area.

Lovely food in nice surroundings served by friendly amazing staff… It was pleasure to discover a pub that isn’t pretentious in any way. I would highly recommend a visit to try for yourself.
We will return to try some more dishes as we would have tried lots more if we had room 😀

Lovely pub with very friendly staff and atmosphere. Lots of Covid safety measures in place.
Menu is good and offers the choice of smaller portions as a lunch option.
I had Grilled halloumi sandwich which was well presented, served with tortilla chips and side salad. Very tasty indeed!
Desserts were great too, the fruit crumble was delicious especially with a drizzle of the ginger anglais!
Would recommend for lunch or dinner.

Attended as the guests of friends who live in the village to see a live jazz band called BD Lenz. Beautiful pub, lovely friendly staff, perfect food and the band were superb. An unforgettable night out in every way.

Having completed a walk in the local area, this pub was a delight to use. The staff were friendly, and the drinks went down a treat. A very pleasant beer garden at the front of the premises.

Friendly, helpful staff from booking a table to paying the final bill.

Server was a real comedian, offering me "slightly smaller lunchtime portions" - as if! But good to know. I think she was suggesting I could lose some weight.

Yes, the food was excellent, albeit at a slightly higher overall cost than expected, it was the lovely rib-eye steak that did it! My fish & chips was truly excellent as was the delicious sorbet ice-cream.

My wife had the Honey & Apricot dessert (see photo) which was something she'd never seen or tasted before; she is exalting its uniqueness even now.

We also noticed lots of customers having the burgers that looked fab - guess what I will be having next time, along with a pint of Cheeky Bustard. Atmosphere (outside) was great; nice (front) garden table, the sun came out for a few minutes too.

Like Arnie, we'll be back - for my birthday lunch in a couple of weeks' time. Can't wait!

Update April 2022: had a great Easter Monday brunch here today. Quality was as good as ever, service was impeccable. I expect we'll be back during the summer again 😀

First time.
We just nipped in to get a drink after a long dog walk. The garden was lovely to sit in with the dogs and enjoy a drink.
Will definitely be going back to sit and dine in and it was very inviting.

Stopped here for a Sunday dinner, the food was lovely, beef was served pink and was informed of this on ordering, it was lovely, the pork I am told was just a nice. Crème brûlée for dessert was just heaven, served with a raspberry sorbet on the side.
The service was fantastic, the servers never seemed to stop, they were constantly tidying away plates or bringing food and drinks.

Highly recommend this lovely restaurant, thank you.
