Sainsbury’s Local

Just had my first visit to the newly opened Sainsbury's Local on Via Urbis Romanae. I went at a fairly busy time: the tills were having a glitch and couldn't take card payments so it was cash payments only, plus the cash machine outside was also having issues BUT the staff remained calm, helpful and professional despite the frustrating situation.

There is a price mark-up on some items (for example: I think own brand tomato soup was 10p more than in larger Sainsbury's stores) but equally, I spotted other items (tissues) which were being sold at the normal price. Some price increases are to be expected, since you are paying for the location and the convenience. This new store will be an asset to the local community.

This Sainsbury’s has all the essential items that you need from organic chicken all the way to chocolate. If you feel like snacking on something sweet prices are reasonable and the cash machine is an added feature for when you need to withdraw cash .

Great store. Can staff please be allowed, to clear the rubbish around the shop, left by selfish people with low standards, just littering. Why would you litter? There is a bin outside the shop

Near the Colchester Hospital, very clan and service good, lots of great items.
