Wickes Chelmsford

The old homebase has been converted to a shiny new Wickes. It is well planned out, and the old mezzanine deck has been taken away, giving a clean, bright outlay across the whole store. Well stocked and well staffed. Holds a wide range of products, but product lines are limited to do this. Which is not an issue as most have a Wickes label or top brand choice. They have a large online product range but you won't find the store holding demonstration versions of the larger items such as sheds etc. The carpark now has the addition of van spaces and click & collect pick-up points. A good place for a quick fix for a DIY project or larger project.

A bright, fresh, and airy store that is neatly laid out. Loads of kitchens on display and stock on shelves is in good condition. Staff very helpful. So much better than the tired old Homebase store.

Popped in to get a few bits for a first time wallpapering attempt. Darren not only helped me find everything I needed, but gave me some great advice on what I needed to do. Fantastic customer service!

If ya love ya DIY shops, you'll love this place. Immaculately clean, everything in stock. Pleasant smiling staff. Long may it continue. Keep it up please.

Clean feel to time place, easy layout to find things.

Refreshing change: bright, clean, fully stocked and they had everything I went in for, and some items cheaper than the competition in the area. Mature helpful staff too.

Fantastic to have Wickes back in Chelmsford. So much better than the old Homebase. So much cheaper than B & Q.

I had a load of timber delivered. Didn't realise until I'd painted and drilled it, that one piece was badly warped. Took it back and it was exchanged with no issues. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Came to the store from Hertford to view the Natura kitchen range as it one of the few stores to have the range on display. Great to see the range but more importantly Phil was amazingly helpful and enthusiastic, so professional.

Went in for a quick visit to look at a replacement for the kitchen sink but there was not many on display. Only about 6 other than the ones in the kitchen display, The website lists a lot more but not on display in the shop, so lost a star for that.

New store, well stocked, absolutely brilliant service and product knowledge. Pleasantly surprised. So much so that I felt the need to write a sensible post for a change. Earwig flaplets.
