Hi,
I live in the neighborhood and had a terrible experience with this store. I had initially approached the store without a mask and the proprietor very rightly asked me to leave, though in an extremely rude manner. Without a word, I duly got a mask from my apartment and again entered the store to purchase bread. The proprietor was quite curt while taking payment and as I was leaving the store, I heard derisive laughter behind my back. On telling the proprietor that this is rude behavior, he took his mask off , became very aggressive and started shouting 'are you the minister of laughter', 'get out!' etc.
All residents of this area - please do consider if you want to provide custom to such a store with such appalling notions of decency and customer service. From what I recollect, this man has always been surly and abrasive and I do hope I was not singled out for targeting.
I will also be posting my experiences on Hurlingham and Napier Court bulletin boards - its far better to walk to a Waitrose or even to Putney high street for an impromptu purchase, than to be subject to this when doing something as innocuous as grocery shopping.
I will also highlight to Mace Stores management, to the extent they care or have any oversight over this man.
