SPAR - London Road Dover

Great in here from fresh hot food (gotta try the potatoe dog) to fresh bread. Staff are always friendly and up for a chat and a giggle

What has happened to the SPAR? I turned my back for 10 or 12 months & it's turned into a really nice supermarket, reminds me of the Co-op when we had one down my end of Dover. Deli counter, decent veg, whole bunch of stuff I never associated with SPAR supermarkets. You could do a reasonable size shop in here rather than just the last minute dash to buy that thing you forgot to buy in Morrisons. Not necessarily the cheapest but the quality has really risen

Friendly staff and good selection of items. Also is a hermes/evri parcel drop off and collection point

A shop open 364 days a year ! It's wonderful ! And with such extended hours. Really useful and the people working there are really kind.

Expired products on shelf for sale

the staff are unkind and unfriendly and food/drink is overpriced. with the tango iceblast machine, it cost £5 just for the cup and £4.75 for a refill, when if this was a good shop it would be free. this is ridiculous!

Rude staff with poor customer service (and not for the first time either). One member of staff stepped in on behalf of her less-than-helpful colleague to some extent, however overall, the original server provided an unreasonable response to a perfectly reasonable question, in an apparent attempt to cause embarrassment. Some training needed, perhaps?

Bottle of sauce purchased today was 2 years past it's SELL BY DATE!
The owner noticed me as I walked through the door to return it and took it off me saying "out of date is it"? No apologies and no further conversation, he just walked off and left me to arrange a refund with a member of staff.
The one star was for his female member of staff, who was visibly embarrassed and left to the apologies and my refund.
