Stir Bakery Fulbourn

I used to cycle to Chesterton just to get the bread... Imagine my surprise when they opened the Fulbourn shop! So glad is closer to home, with the same tasty flavours and variety

One can buy manufactured 'bread' for maximising profits, cheap freeze-dried 'coffee' and greasy additive-laden pastries for much less at the supermarkets.

Contrary to one reviewer on here, what is over-priced is supermarket 'food'. Small shops on the high street have mostly disappeared now that most people are at the end of a huge machine of supermarket consumption, where profits are maximised at the expense of quality, taste and one's health.

If eating and drinking pastiches of croissant and coffee from made-to-a-price food is satisfactory, then avoid this bakery. Stay on the end of the mechanised food pipe.

We've been a few times now to the new Stir bakery in Fulbourn and love the bread selection, and will be returning! Not to mention the other goodies you can buy. Sweet treats, jams, chutneys, oils, breakfast cereal. It's a small shop but just the right size. Hot and cold drinks available, and handmade sandwiches with amazing full fillings! The focaccia loaf is our favourite and do love a little mocha coffee every now and then. Yesterday I was recommended an iced drink, I went for the iced matcha with oat milk, I am a matcha lover and it was very refreshing over ice for the hot day! Although no dogs allowed, there is a bowl of water outside and a jar of dog biscuits by the front door, very thoughtful! Lovely, knowledgeable and friendly staff, always polite and helpful!

Small independent businesses producing fresh delicious healthy food like this make shopping and eating the great experience that it should be 👏👏
