Excellent local food in old town Samobor. Definitely worth to visit. Food is just delicious and perfectly made. Boar meat from local hunters, mushrooms from surrounding forests, what else to say. Mushroom soup is a must to try. Portions are big so don't overdo with dishes. Place is nicely decorated with very detailed wall painting of nature. Waters are very friendly. There is big parking lot in front just across the street for the customers.

Every dish was delicious, particularly the roast wild boar with gnocchi. The portions are huge, we ended up taking half the meal home and had another delicious lunch the day after! I’d thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

Everything was perfect. Mushroom soup is must to try and highly recommended. Also, veal with mushroom sauce and for the end vanila ice cream with pumpin oil.

I've been coming here for over 30 years now. It's not close by, it's not particularly cheap, but the food is awesome. They serve an array of traditional fare, crafted from locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend trying their mushroom soup and veal roast Gabrek, it could be the finest meal you've ever savoured.

Mum and dad's favourite place due to melt-in-your-mouth veal. The catch of the day was lovely, too. Good aul cosy, relaxed, rustical atmosphere. Homemade & homegrown! Warmly recommend

The experience of eating local. Great place with very friendly service and great food. The famous mushroom soup is a must. Fantastic! Beware of the portion sizes. For a very reasonable price, we got a huge portion of breaded calamari, and those were exceptional. Pleasantly surprised by everything! Highly recommended.

One of the best places to eat not only near Zagreb or within Croatia, but worldwide too. Extremely large portions of highest quality food with affordable prices for the category. Must try pancakes, veil, and/or knedle.

Extraordinary restaurant! One of the best in the whole region. We were on our way to Ljubljana, and we came for lunch. Food was so good that we came agin on our way back.

Thia was by far the best restaurant I wisited in this part of Croatia. They serve traditional Croatian food, and they know how to prepare it well. For starters, we tried traditional beef soup, tomato soup, and mushroom soup. For main we had veal prepared in 2 different ways, pork loin and fried cheese, and for dessert we had chocolate cake and traditional apple strudel. All of the food was delicious, and the portions were very big. We were not able to eat everything, so we had to take some of the food home.
The service was also great. They were very kind, attentive, and efficient. Despite the fact they were so busy (there were people waiting in line for a table), they were kind and gave us the time to enjoy our time at the restaurant. We will definitely be back at Gabrek when we are in the area.

We had an aperitifs, then fungus soup which was great and creamy, also you can add milled pumpkin seeds for extra taste. The main course was wild in boar in fungus gravy with homemade gnocchi. It was all waiter's recommendation. The soup was excellent and the wild boar was even better. Strongly recommended.

We came to this restaurant based on a recommendation, and we haven't regretted it at all. We didn't have a reservation, but we were warmly welcomed, waited a short while, and soon got a table. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the homemade mushroom soup, which is a must-try. The meat, specifically the Gabrek meat with sauce, was incredibly delicious and met all our expectations. We haven't felt more comfortable and welcome in a restaurant for a long time.

Fantastic food complimented by friendly professional service. One of the staff offered to drive us back to Zagreb instead of taking the bus. This is our second time here and we will come back just for the experience.

Traditional Croatian-Samobor dishes. Generous portions and fresh local food. Also they have the option of 45 types of Le Crepe dessert (palachinke). Ambience is amazing, as well as staff. Janko took care of us, very professional. There is outdoor and indoor sitting. No complain about anything.

I really like what they've done with outdoor space. Turning parking spaces into dining area, near the stream. Atmosphere and sounds there are great.

And the food is absolutely amazing. Veal is out of this world. And all the side dishes, salads and soups as well.

Big recommendation to everyone and I'm sure I'll be repeating my visits as often as I can.

The food was great. Price was just a bit on the higher end but well worth it for the quality and quantity of the meal.

When you see a pile of mushrooms being sliced at the entry of a restaurant, then you know that homemade mushroom soup is a must try!
Every single item on their menu is delicious.

I was very very pleased with the experience!
-food was SUPERB! There are many restaurants in Zagreb and near Zagreb with great home made food, but this was something else!
-staff was friendy and, what suprised me, FAST! One showed us to our table, the other took our order, third one brought the food, they looked capable and highly coordinated. There was no confusion typical to crowded restaurants. They will gladly answer your questions and recommend the food.
-the restaurant IS crowded so make sure to telephone first and reserve your table!
-food came quickly and with great spacing, you won't have to, for example, wait long between the soup and main course.
-try their mushroom soup and other specialities with mushrooms they were excellent
-even the bread which was in a typical basket on the table was home made and very tasty 😁
-portions are large enough, you won't be left hungry (I'm a big man so that is very important to me)
-PRICES are a bit steep, but for the portions and quality it is not surprising
-unfortunately I couldn't try their famous pancakes in wine or egg chateau sauce because they don't make them when it's crowded during weekend (because of long prepare time) but will come back during week to try them 🙂

Great local food
Boar and strukli were great. We also tried the mushroom soup which was amazing but 2 portions are too large for 2 people (if you plan on trying more stuff)

A charming restaurant in a beautiful location, friendly staff and great service. Delicious homemade food served nicely and warm. Excellent price to quality ratio, especially considering that the portions are very large and one portion can comfortably feed two people who eat less. If there was any more place in my stomach after all the soup and delicious main courses, I'd try a homemade dessert as well.
