Catherine's Vineyard Cottages

These cottages are a wonderful destination to get away from the heat and bustle of downtown Budapest. Each cottage has its own character, all are beautifully furnished and full of little touches that make them special. The location is quiet, with the houses nestling among trees and vines. There is a pool to swim in and lounge around if your chosen cottage doesn’t have a pool of its own. Catherine is an exceptional host always ensuring that everyone is happy and everything is perfect.

My partner and I stayed at Catherine Cottages on 11th July 2023 for a week. Our party booked all the cottages for duration of the stay.
The cottages were well equipped with everything you need and the helpful staff were on hand to assist if required.
We used the reception area one evening to have a barbeque and the team provided the utensils we needed. They kindly cleared up the next day. It was a great evening with drinks, music and dancing!
The cottages are set in beautiful Hungarian countryside and it is very peaceful.

We met the lovely owner, Catherine on our last day - thank you for having us! We would certainly stay again and highly recommend.

This wonderful group of cottages, each slightly different, lies in a beautiful rural location a few hundred metres from Csakbereny, approximately 70km from Budapest in a westerly direction. Set up by the dynamic Catherine Dickens and her late husband, the aura of hospitality displayed during a 10-day stay by this reviewer showed the highest standards - perhaps this assessment was best exemplified on the last night when the proprietor asked for feedback and what improvements could be made. As it happened, the accommodation was hard to criticise. The Cottages might appeal to a broad range eg families for a rural holiday (some have swimming pools), couples for a romantic break, even would-be authors or business people needing solitude. Further, this reviewer is a very amateur ornithologist, able to be enthused by sightings of a range of birds including Syrian Woodpeckers, Hoopoes and Red-backed Shrikes. Catherine’s Cottages deserve the highest accolades and this reviewer could not recommend them highly enough.

A wonderful place to let your soul dangle. Alone, as couple or family. If you take the kids rather visit during the warmer months when you can use the outside pool. All Cottages are greatly equipped and super lovely decorated. You notice on the first sigh that everything has been done with lots of love!
The place is only one hour drive away from Budapest so it's perfect just for a weekend to get a nice rest. Catherine and her team is super kind and very dedicated. If you are missing or forgot something they will help you out for sure!

This place is absolutely beautiful. It's romantic beyond worlds. The summer months are great here for a few day romantic getaway, especially when the lavenders are blooming. Fabulous service with attention to the smallest details. Highly recommended!

What a find! We absolutely loved this place. Stayed in two of Catherine’s enchanting cottages and loved the surrounding orchards and vineyards. Absolute tranquility and stylish luxury made for the best stay in Hungary.

Charming self-catering cottages run by a delightful English lady, Catherine Dickens. You need to stay two nights, but it is absolutely worth it for the tranquility, the pool and the views. Book for now for next summer as they fill up fast.
