We came here one morning to hike before heading back to Budapest and we were very happy that we did. Hike was beautiful. We had the forest all to ourselves. Such a great escape from the lights and buzz of the touristy areas in Budapest.

It's a beautiful park and quite a walk, so I would suggest taking the train up and then leisurely walk your way back to the entrance. Do not rush. Give 3-4 hours to soak in the atmosphere as there's quite a lot to see.

We wandered away from the main area and followed the water for 2 km down and did a loop , just beautiful here , the bird song is amazing , we couldn't catch the train as we only had visa cards, so if you visit here have the right currency for drinks , or cable car / train

Both from Eger city & Miskolc city (for example) are great to ride, cycling into/across the amazing mountains of Bukk Nat. Park! :) Cycling routes are not everywhere, so if you are not enough confident on the roads, then go with your car until Szilvasvarad (village), where you can start your more relaxing ride without almost any traffic.;) Road bikes are OK to use in Bukk but if you don't want to watch/care much about potholes on the smaller roads, go with mountain bike, or cross bike, gravel bike, enjoy!;)

Beautiful place to spend a day with the family. If you are in the region you can't miss this. A little train goes up to the waterfall and you can walk down from there trough the forest.

One of the most beautiful environments for hiking in nature, with many cultural sites and museums.

It's an amazing place to go and spend some time. This huge national park is more than just a park because it's actually include a forest with rivers, cliffs and different natural formations which been saved and protected by government and laws.
Fresh and clean air, singing birds, the smoothly caressing wind - only a few things on a long list for what is worth to visit this place.
There's a road across the park which is very sinuous, so be careful if you driving.

Scenes are beautiful, but there is not enough public transportation.

Some gorgeous landscapes in this national park, as well as beautiful man-made localities and structures . However - note to the local authorities - natural beauty is not sufficient to create a tourism attraction, you also need to invest in the infrastructure more. Namely, the roads that crisscross the National Park are falling apart, and drivers are having to avoid potholes all the time, which is dangerous and very disruptive

I have been there at least a 100 times and it never cease to amaze me, it is like I am there for the first time. The view points are there for a reason. Regardless which path you choose and follow you will have a great day out in the nature. Tip: just make sure that you decide on a path that you can manage as there are some where you need to walk uphill for quite a few kilometers and it can be tough for people with lower stamina.
My husband and I love Bükk National Park so much that we even had our wedding photo shoot at one of our favourite view points. :)

Vast dense forests, rich network of paths and roads for hiking and biking, all very well marked. Almost no civilization, except Bankut or Javorkut. So be prepared - take snacks and lots of water with you.
