If you're craving a steak in Szeged, this is the place to go. Every time I want steak, I choose this restaurant. I always order my steak well-done, as I can’t handle meat that's too rare. Here, the chef expertly prepares even well-done steaks so they remain juicy and tender, not burnt or tough. Additionally, the food isn't overly salty, which is perfect for those with high blood pressure or for children. I highly recommend their broccoli cream soup—it's fantastic! Even if you're not a fan of broccoli, you'll fall in love with this soup. Their homemade lemonade is a must-try with every visit! Plus, the reception is always helpful and English-friendly, making every visit smooth and enjoyable.

Waiters are polight and kind, food delicious and service is fast. Portions are big and food is crazy delicious. Great prices too. We come often here from Serbia, for weekend lunch.

The atmosphere is very cozy and familial, and the service extremely polite. And the staff know their English, so communication won't be an issue.
And, a special commendation for the very interesting wall decoration and colouring. A singular blend of ye olde Hungarian feels with modern art.

The food was delicious and placed in an amazing plating. The staff was super friendly and the music was great! Two hour ride to this place but we’re definitely coming back!

The food is great, they serve very big portions. It’s almost impossible to finish everything served on a plate. The local has an amazing atmosphere, I highly recommend it.

We had sliced pork knuckle dolamascz and stuffed cabbage rolls. Excellent flavors and perfect preparation, service was friendly but not intruding, they accommodated our extremely limited Hungarian quite pleasantly. Will definitely return.

Beautiful restaurant close to the river and city centre with wonderful atmosphere and service ( English, German speakers).
With delicious food, warning portions are big. I recommend to try fish soup as it is coming from this region but you need to be careful with fish bones. ( Do not recommend to those who do not like carp).
Our waiter was very nice and offered me a cloth to cover my white shirt whilst eating soup (Wise advice).
I had turkey with camembert cheese and plum and it was heavenly wonderful. My fiance who doesn't like plum also loved it.
Restaurant is full of local people, eating, chatting and laughing which brings a wonderful charm to the place and shows how nice this place and food is. Definitely recommend!

Please make yourself a favor and visit this restaurant while in Szeged. The food is far more than delicious, and trust me, you will not be hungry after a portion like this. Great staff who know how to approach hungry customers. The place is clean and so cozy. The best food so far in Szeged!

Lovely food, great service. I have visited the Régi Híd Vendéglő every time I've gone to Szeged for about 15 years. Honestly one of my favourite restaurants. The menu changed a lot and I miss some of my old time favourites, but still find new things to enjoy. The waiters are friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable. Thank you.

Very nice, cozy place in heart of Szeged. I recommend this place to everyone who visits Szeged. You can choose from a good variety of traditional Hungarian dishes. Anything you choose you cannot go wrong with it. I was here with my dad and sister we ordered to share a fish soup which came in a nice cauldron. After we had three types of fish (pictures) everything was delicious, fresh and the service was great and fast even though it was rush hour. I definitely will come back here to try other dishes. Oh, and if you’re there don’t forget to ask their homemade lemonade (they have a sugar free option too) it’s large and refreshing … so so good!!!

Came back here twice, the food was that good! In terms of authenticity, it's hard to say, but the dishes I ordered were more or less how I remember it from decades ago as a kid living in Szeged, plus I only saw (heard) locals, so I assume it holds up. The service is very good and friendly and, as everywhere in Szeged, there was no issue with communicating in English. 10% tip (service fee as it seems they prefer to call it at most places) is included in the final price, and cards are accepted.

Really great place to try traditional Hungarian food at a decent price. The menu is pretty big featuring many meat dishes, plus the local specialities like fish soup. The menu is avaliable in English. Friendly service. Food came quickly. Plenty of indoor seating. Dogs welcome inside. Highly recommend.

This is the real Hungarian restaurant. Beef stew and chicken paprikash couldn't be better. Everything is so delicious, even the salad is perfect.
Service was fast and kind. Definitely we will come back here next time.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a good place to eat while in the city. It is a very beautifully designed restaurant. I recommend reserving a table, we got very lucky with getting the last available table for lunch. They offer the menu in Hungarian, English, and German. The waiters are very friendly and understand multiple languages.

We ordered the homemade lemonade and Chicken breast with Cheddar cheese sauce, spring onion, red currant sauce and fried potatoes and Woodman pork with additional side of potato slices. All the food was absolutely delicious and the portions were plentiful.

Prices were very reasonable especially for the size of the dishes.

They even provide reading glasses, in case you left yours at home. :D

Definitely recommend this place.
