Hey everyone... Mount Kékes, the highest mountain in Hungary
(3,327 feet 1,014 metres) ... In my opinion, easy hiking... There is a good restaurant in the area for an outing with the family.

Hungary’s highest point, Kékes, stands 3,326 feet (1,014m) tall. As it’s only 62 miles (100km) outside Budapest, the mountain can be conquered on a day trip, and you’ll be back in the capital for a hearty goulash dinner. Committed walkers can walk 11 miles (17.7km) to the top from the nearby town of Gyöngyös – or cheat and slash the distance to just a few footsteps by driving to the very top. However, when you get to the top of Kékes, you can add another 577 feet (176m) to your altitude by riding the lift to the top of the Soviet-era TV tower. Catch your breath and stop for a snack and a glass of local wine (produced on the sunnier side of Kékes) in the bar. If you come in winter, you can even ski down the mountain.

Was truly an amazing experience. Have seen the snow so white for the first time. It was so beautiful. We visited on January. You should visit around the Christmas holidays. A wonderful place to visit. There is also facility of coffee shops. But you should be prepared with your waterproof boots 🥾 and winter clothes. But it is a must try place.

Kekesteto has a spectacular view all around nearby villages and over. We had a good walk plenty of times, nice forest and crystal clear air. You’ll never forget. Few restaurants on the highest point on Hungary, with tasty food and hot or cold drinks. Especially the winter is wonderful up there. Kekesteto is one of the must visiting place when we back to Hungary for a break.

Nice area for hiking

It is not spectacular, but there are nice views from the TV tower.

For the hunters of Europe's highest peaks, it is obligatory to hike there :-)

It's the highest point of Hungary, so it's worth to climbe in. The view is spectacular from the TV tower. Restaurant is open both in summer and winter season. In wintertime you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding or whaterver else is your preferred style :) it's also possible to go there by car (parking is not free) and by bike too. Have a nice day there!

Az orszag ikonikus helye, es legmagasabb pontja egyben. Kellemes kornyezet, jo levego, hetkoznap nyugis, nem zsufolt. Parkolas dijkoteles 500ft/ nap. Kozel van Galyateto, es egyeb szep matrai helyek. Jol jelolt turautvonalak is haladnak at ezen a ponton. Kavezo, tv torony, sipalya, jatszoter, szuvenir boltok. Kicsit talan lehetne tobb ulohely, pad.

Mindenképp érdemes Mátraházától a kéktúra útvonalán - ami tartalmazza a teljes sípályát - feljönni a hegycsúcsra. Higgyék el, így igazán megérdemelt a nemzeti színű kővel készített kép, autóval nem nagy kunszt felérni.

UI: pofátlanul a kéktúra útvonalát elmozgatták a sípályáról, hát mi az hogy az ország tetejére egy nagy emelkedőn vezet fel az út 😆

Az egyik legszebb hely Magyarországon és a legmagasabb pontja. Télen, nyáron, ősszel, tavasszal, bármikor jó kirándulás hely. Nagyon sok túra útvonal van itt.

Magyarország legmagasabb pontja Kékestető 1014 méterrel. Ettől magasabban csak akkor lehetsz, ha a TV torony 2. vagy 3. szintjét is bevállalod. A parkolás 500 Ft. A TV toronyba a belépőt pedig még ettől borsosabb áron mérik. De a kilátás miatt megéri.
