Csobánc Castle

Get the bus to Gyulakeszi or park at the car park at the bottom of the hill, it’s a fairly long hike to the top and it’s a slope obviously, beautiful views along the way and especially once you get to the top. Make sure to bring water! Castle is worth the wait

Nagyon jol. Very good place. Steep path, well signposted. Difficult underfoot with loose gravel, stones and a tricky stepped section. 360 degree views towards Balaton, Bakony etc from summit. Beautiful castle ruin with a plain ground and a few tables around it. Great to rest for a several minutes after ascending to the top of the hill.

Huuu, this is a magnificent spot. In spite of having only ruins here you can sense the history. Panorama is top.

There are many, many beautiful things to see at the Balaton Uplands. But Csobánc is definitely a must see and definitely in my Top 3 favorite places in Veszprém country. You have a 360° view from here.

Amazing experience. Big hike but worth it

One of the most underestimated place between the other beautiful places next to the lake Balaton. It worth to make a short hike until the top and then you will have a wonderful view towards all of the big volcanic mountains and the lake itself. Walking between the ruins give you additional special feeling back to the middle ages.

Great views. The path is described and quite easy, but it takes 20-30 minutes to climb. Amazing impressions.

Great castle ruins - definitely worth the climb to get up to the ruins. It also is a great place to paraglide from. On a beautiful summer day you can see quite a few paragliders. Lots of fun. It is also along the Hungarian Blue Trail - an across Hungary hiking trail that is 1167 kms long. One of the stamps is located at the Csobánc Castle Ruins.

Breath-taking panorama of the region from the top of the hill. No facilities on the top, so make sure you take water with you. About a 50-minute climb to the top.

although this is not much of a castle or fort (or any building, for that matter: since its demolition in the 18th century it's not much more than a bunch of rocks), the view is well worth the hike: you can see all the famous hills of the Balaton Uplands - except Csobánc, of course.

Great little climb to a perfect view. Follow the White & green flags on the trees if you come from the parking

Really nice panorama. Count with around 2-3 hours. Not 50 minutes like I did, it's not enough.
