Sadar Wisata Guesthouse

This place is amazing. I got the big bungalow that is in front of a river and a huge greenery, you feel like in a paradise, in the middle of the land. The food you have in the restaurant is very delicious and local, and there's a warm welcoming.
I did a 2 days trakking into the jungle with the best guide ever: Princa.
It was a super experience and he show me many things into the jungle and share his knowledge about the place with me. We saw many orangutans and I really enjoy the place, it's special! I truly recommend this experience and if you get time, I suggest you to stay more in the jungle, there're many things to discover!

Beautiful little place, deep in the mountains and jungles of Sumatra. I can’t remember who recommended these great lodgings, but I’m very glad they did. Wonderful rooms, and great staff. We set off from here on a trek for a few days and what an amazing experience that was from this perfect base.

We love Sadar Wisata. It is the original jungle trek guesthouse in this area, operating since 1987. Ayuni and her family and her staff are lovely and it was the perfect place to start our vacation. The trek was amazing and our guide Abdul was really an expert and knowledgeable about the jungle and everything in it. With his skill and some luck we actually found orangutans in 3 hours of starting. We weren't in very good physical shape (and not used to the humidity), so we only lasted one day of trekking even though we planned on doing two. Make sure you are in decent physical shape before trying the trek.

My boyfriend and I recently had a wonderful stay at Sadar Wisata over 5 days including 3 days in the jungle which I highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Gunung Leuser National Park to trek.

The owner of the Guesthouse Pindra and his wife Julela are so lovely, helpful and make you feel very welcome along with Mario who seems to help out with anything & everything at the Guesthouse. Pindra organises the trekking and arranged taxis for us from / back to Medan which worked out well. He also has a great laugh & is always smiling :)

At the Guesthouse we stayed in one of the large bungalows which is basic but comfortable and the bed had a have mosquito net. We ate all of our meals in their restaurant which are cooked by Julela and are very tasty and good value - we miss her cooking! There is Wi-Fi in the restaurant area which didn't always work and often cut out.

Our trek was guided by Abdul who I can't recommend enough as well as Mario who carried the camping gear and made us delicious hot meals to come back to. The tent which we camped in was basic and made from plastic sheeting which was great at keeping the rain out but not so much ants and insects. It's not a problem though if you know what to expect - it is the jungle after all!

Whilst trekking over the 3 days Abdul spotted 18 orangutans, a black haired gibbon, rhinoceros hornbills, squirrels, lots of macaque and thomas leaf monkeys amoung other animals. Abdul also pointed out interesting insects, fruits and fungi and is generally very knowledgeable about the jungle as well as being friendly, approachable and a pleasure to trek with.

All in all a great Guesthouse with excellent hosts and guides who really made our visit :)

Amazing time in Ketambe with Pindra and Julela who are amazing hosts, they will make you feel right at home with your own family.
Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms at very affordable price.
Food is fresh and honestly some of the best I have tested in Indonesia ( try Gado-gado!)
Jungle Treks very well organized with great guides (no hassles to sell you a tour though which is refreshing)

Desde el momento en que llegamos Sadar Wisata Guesthouse nos envolvió la tranquilidad del bosque. Rodeados por el susurro de los árboles y el canto de los pájaros, encontramos un oasis de paz lejos del bullicio de la ciudad.
La amabilidad de los anfitriones fue insuperable. Nos recibieron con sonrisas cálidas y nos hicieron sentir como en casa desde el primer instante. Cada solicitud fue atendida con diligencia y cada interacción, un recordatorio de la hospitalidad genuina que ofrecen.
No dejen de probar los spaghetti con salsa de tomate que sirven. Hechos con tomates frescos estos spaghetti son simplemente divinos.

Un professionnalisme, une expertise, une écoute ont rendu ce trek des plus rassurants.
Avec bien sûr, les orangs-outans à la clé.
Mais pas que.... Ces deux jours resteront gravés à vie dans ma mémoire.
