Lake Linow

Currently, when I post this review, this place is under construction for renovation near the lake. But you can stay and see this lake from their restaurant.
If you are moslems don't worry, the food from this place didn't contain pork.
There is admission when you come to this lake Rp35.000 per person (Rp30.000 for the ticket and Rp5.000 for government retribution) and Rp4.000 for the car parking fee.

You can get free beverages with coffee or tea options.

This was taken on the other side of the lake, so we drove through the road until we get to this kind of villa. It was so cool with the stairs, only 10.000/person. It was so peaceful here. They have like bungalows, would be great that the boat is not left behind broken so we can sail around the lake.

Lovely place with nice sightseeing. Only abit smell of sulfer from the lake. The rest is great with cool temperature as the highland area.

A local guide Adam brought us to “secret” place behind the restaurant where most “group tourists” went. You need a local guide as some spil can be soft and hot and hence dangerous. Excellent secret place before it is overly touristy!

The most beautiful lake I've ever been to. I could feel the majesty of nature there that makes my heart smiles. Please take care of lake, you power people. Don't try to add any building more near the lake just for the sake of content. It's already beautiful as it is. Definitely will come back if i had a chance to go to North Sulawesi.

Cafe for hang out with Linow Lake view, really great for taking photo with family/friends.
First time you come here, you will smell sulfur from the lake, but after 10 minutes you will get used to it.
Entrance ticket only IDR25.000 include hot coffee/tea. Hot coffee really help to warm your body since this place has a cool temperature.

Located in Tomohon, 1 hour drive from Manado (the capital city of North Sulawesi Province). It's best for you to rent a car from Manado because I don't see any public transportation heading to this place. Lake Linow is currently one of leading tourist destination in North Sulawesi. The lake itself is a volcanic lake and you will smell a-kinda-rotten egg-like-smell from the lake. That's because sulfur is scattered all around Lake Linow, and that's where the green color of the lake comes from. To enter the place you only need to pay Rp 25.000 per pax (and that's quite cheap), plus you'll get a free cup of tea/coffee (your choice!).

The lake would change its color from green, blue, and choco-yellow. It depends on the sunlight and the sulfur. But I recommend to come in the morning for the best experience. Usually it has fresh air and the brightest color in the morning. Plus, it's not too crowded in the morning.

While you enjoy the superb beauty of the lake, you could order some bites from the restaurant there. Make sure you choose the table near the balcony for the best view

Please note that you couldn't swim here, as the lake contain so much sulfuric acid that could hurt your body.

Linow Lake (Danau Linow) can be reached 3 km from the city of Tomohon, North Sulawesi. It such a beautiful view there. If you're lucky, you can see the color of the lake's water changing in 3 colors, there are green, blue, and dark yellow. There is sulfur in the lake so it is prohibited to swim or play the lake's water. You will smell the odor of the sulfur here. But it's very unique. If you come to this place, you can look the beautiful view of the lake while enjoying the hot tea and warm fried bananas (pisang goreng). A great place to relax and hang out with famaily or friends!

what a beauty! Every spot in this area is 'instagrammable'. You'd like this place if you're that type of photohunter guy. Fair pricing and my suggestion is to visit in the afternoon. And don't forget to visit the cafe for a coffee or snacks

Really worth a visit. Very active vulcanic lake. Beautifull surrounding.....

Beautiful place to visit....IF NOT MUCH TOURISTs :( Aside from a bit pricey snacks and foods, the view is worth it to keep away your stress in this North Celebes Province

Nice Lake

Very beautiful scenery with a mixture between mountain and lake. The ticket here gave you permit to enter the lake and serve you a cup of tea or coffee as compliment. The access to the place is very easy to find and not to far away from the main road.
