Ranu Kumbolo

Memories in 2016 poping up because I once hiked with my deceased bestfriend. Semeru with its peak called Mahameru is one of the favorite mountains of the people on the Java Island, and Ranukumbolo Lake at 2.390mdpl/masl is a favorite of almost all climbers.
Enjoy adventure, hiking, camping, and enjoying the perfect sunrise against the backdrop of a painting-like valley lake.
If you are lucky, you will get the sunrise, but sometimes the fog is very thick.
Four hours walk to conquer around 12 km long trail from Ranu Pane, it all pays off with this amazing view. The best time to visit is from the end of May until the end of August where the sun is in the northern hemisphere so there is no rain in this area as well as most of Java island.

The best sunrise moment I’ve ever experienced! Near freezing temperatures at dawn, so water of the lake is vaporizing. Ranukumbolo lake is my favorite!
I have been there three times with my friends, we enjoyed the adventures, hiking, cooked together and enjoyed the perfect sunrise!!
If you lucky, you’ll get a sunrise. Because sometimes the fog is very thick.
You should go to ranukumbolo, at least once!

I want to give a thousands of stars to review this place as much as this place gave to me.m but google only accept max 5 😂 Well, as a nature lover, this place is such a very beautiful paradise. A very magical lake in a volcano, a very beautiful present you’ll receive after 6 hours climbing. Ranu Kumbolo is good to everyone whether they’re old or young, as long as you have a good physical condition, you’ll reach that place. When the nights come and the skies is clear you’ll see a lot of stars above your head, and if you’re luckier, you’ll see milky way with your own eyes. And when you wake up from your sleeping bag, get out from your tent, it will give you a very magical and beautiful sunrise that will goes up between the twin hills. I think a day is not enough, you have to spend 2 or 3 days in Ranu Kumbolo for the best feeling. And don’t forget to bring yor jacket, cause it’s about 5 degree celcius in the midnight! Magical place , fairy land, where you can feel all the awesomeness of nature around you. The mist which covered the surface of the lake as it's slowingly fading away as the sun rises , and it's warm wind during the day , makes you want to stay longer in this place. If you can live without internet and love the sound of nature , then it's a perfect place to be during the weekend of April to the end of october.

It is beautiful lake I have ever seen. Nice place to get refreshing and release all of daily activity. It has beautiful landscape, but unfortunately, many hiker obey to the environment. Many trash over there like plastic noodle, mineral water bottle, cigarete, plastic and many others. Many hikers do not care to these environment, so, that make bad scenery. My suggestion is please take care to ranukumbolo environment. Do not leave anything garbage. Take your trash back down. Keep ranukumbolo to be the most attract holliday lake destination.

Beautiful and unforgetable moments being here. I was hoping to see the sunrise, unfortunately I couldn't saw it because the rain and thick fog. So better checked what is the best time to go there.

I need about 6-7 hours to reach ranu kumbolo from the nearest village. Prepare and bring the sleeping bag and anything you need to keep yourself warm because the night can be really cold. I'd love to go there again.

Must visit place if you ever travel to malang. This place only take 3 hours from malang city and 5 hours to hike till get there. Great place to see sunrise

Best ever after lake ...exsotic place you must visit,for hindu and budha ranu kumbolo is holly lake ...just remind on november to april is mostly heavy rain.
