Jabu Berastagi

My husband and I stayed in Berastagi for 2 days and enjoying to ate only in this restaurant . the best place ever, coffee, lunch or dinner with live music always left us satisfied. The waiters are very responsive and friendly. Thank you!

Big compound perch on a hill elevated from road side. Like driving into a mansion. Main dining hall is cool, open and in the evening very nice, abit like potato head in Bali. Food not expensive, considering the place. Staff very helpful. Food is good, a bit unexpected which is good.
We went there for dinner and went back for Lunch the next day...
PS mini pizza is really mini.....

We dined in at Jabu Berastagi on 16 June as we stayed in a hotel nearby at the area. We ordered ayam cipera, ayam 17 rempah, ayam goreng warisan, and taro and red velvet milk latte. To our surprise, the food tasted awesome and the portion is just nice. The drink taste good too, as it is not too sweet. Definitely a recommendable restaurant when you travel around there.

The best cafe in Karo Regency. All the food is great. The price is moderate. Even though it is crowded with people, the food came around 15-20mins. A bit of a complaint when we're looking for a table, we are a group of 20 people but the female waiter did not even bother to look out the table for all of us. Only told us to wait. Finally a man waiter came and told me that the 2nd floor is open. Other than that, all the experience is amazing.

This is a fantastic find just off the beaten path. Plenty of indoor, open-air seating with a roof that holds up to pounding rain very well. Food, beverages and a full bar. Well worth the slight detour to stop for lunch on your way through town or during your stay. Cash or credit cards accepted.

Large, comfortable and relaxed area and atmosphere. Staff are friendly and attentive and service is relatively quick.

For appetizers the Seafood Basket is tasty but a bit misleading. Primarily fried onions with a light coating of batter, along with a few small shrimp. Greasy but worth it, even if the seafood aspect is pretty light. Their Fiesta Chicken Quesadilla is very satisfying. Remember you're a long way from Mexico and you'll enjoy it thoroughly. Filled with diced bell peppers and chicken in a lightly grilled tortilla. Served with wedge potatoes.

Menu has a good mix of Indonesian favorites and Western familiars. Their Holy Mountain burger is a massive two-patty affair in a mustard-ish sauce. The bun has to work to hold it all together! Served with wedge fries. Their ox-tail soup is delicious and chock full of meaty bits, served alongside white rice. The Grilled Chicken & Prawn with Paella Rice is a healthy portion of saffron-infused rice with grilled prawns and chicken. The Carbonara pasta is creamy with a respectable alfredo sauce.

Their drink menu is extensive and includes the obligatory coffee drinks. However I was particularly impressed by their list of cocktails. The Long Island is delicious and a lot of attention goes into presentation. The White Russian is solid but a little small. Their mojitos are filled with crushed mint leaves and very refreshing. The Whiskey Sour is nicely balanced and made with an egg white for a frothy topping - a dash of bitters over the egg white would make it even nicer! Finally the Old Fashioned is solid even if it was missing the cherry.

For dessert we'd hoped for creme brulee but they were out. Churros were suggested as an alternative and didn't disappoint. Each order has seven medium-sized churros. They aren't overly greasy and are light and fluffy on the inside, with the perfect amount of sugar on the outside. Additionally, it's served with a dollop of whipped cream and a small side of chocolate sauce. Heavenly!

There's likely something for everyone in your group on this menu and it's worth spending time here enjoying the ambiance and the service.

Very fun place to hang out and unwind or relax after a long trip around Berastagi Kabanjahe Lake Toba areas. We also experienced entertaining live music on Thursday evening. Service is welcoming. Food is okay, do not expect the typical local taste, but all quite satisfying.

Jabu is located in Berastagi. It's a modern and elegant restaurant that serves modern Indonesian cuisine, sometimes combining these dishes with Western food. The restaurant is very pleasant, open, and spacious, with good views. The food is good, and the prices are reasonable. The staff is very friendly also.

In my opinion, the best café in town, good view, good food, good coffe, good service. Instagramable, good spot for selfie and recommended to visit.

The ambiance and the food are awesome. They also have healthy drink such as detox. We order chicken katsu & Jabu fried noodle and its very tasty!! Live music on Saturday night.

This cafe has nice atmosphere, comfy place. The price is average as ordinary cafe. We just try the beverages, but other people beside us ordered satay and it seems so delish 😀

Cozy and relaxing place with cold air surrounding in (because located in high ground). The price a little bit expensive but it's worthed and the food tastes good.

Ordered "a meter of satay" (see photo I attached for detail) and really like it because the charcoal makes the surrounding area warm. The taste of satay also good. Also ordered Jabu's ice coffee but the taste just so-so. The grilled chicken and prawn served with paela rice also worth to try.

Surely will come back again someday.

Lovely place and be more chill in the night. If bring friends or family and feel hungry, I recommend you to order Sate Satu Meter, their satai is the best. So delicious with three different sambal. But I warning you, if you order it, it'd be so much of smoke on your table, they serve it with roaster!

And if you a muslim, they do have a little mushola at the corner.

Nice place... But too many people smoke at there. There is no special place for non smoking area.
