Scuba Junkie Komodo Beach Resort

During our five-night stay at the resort, we had an incredible experience. From the stunning diving spots and picturesque scenery to the welcoming and supportive staff, everything surpassed our expectations. The guides and instructors were remarkably knowledgeable and accommodating. We were lucky enough to dive with Didi for our first two days, an absolute master of his craft, you wont find a more graceful person under the water, a joy to watch. Our last 2 days were spent with Michael, his passion for diving is inspiring and his knowledge of the underwater world is world class. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to dive Komodo 🤙

I am compelled to write a review for Dara Noble following our stay at Scuba Junkie in Komodo from June 24-28. We met Dara shortly after arriving on the island when he came to fit us for gear. Immediately, my three teenage children were drawn to his funny, helpful, and knowledgeable demeanor, which put everyone at ease.

My daughter suffers from anxiety, and we were initially unsure how she would manage. Dara went above and beyond to ensure her comfort and safety, making her feel calm and safe from the very beginning. Additionally, my very outgoing and gregarious son posed a different challenge, but Dara managed to keep him engaged and under control while still providing support to his sister. We were incredibly impressed with Dara's calmness, kindness, and exceptional diving skills.

Dara's knowledge of the area and the surrounding dive sites was evident, and his helpful and friendly nature made our experience even more enjoyable. Notably, while other team members seemed content to spend time among themselves, Dara actively sought to engage with our family, making us feel like we were the most important guests on the island.

Scuba Junkie is fortunate to have such an outstanding employee. Individuals like Dara are rare to find these days. We will be sharing our wonderful experience at Scuba Junkie, enhanced by Dara's presence, with all of our friends and colleagues back in California

Just back from an awesome stay at Scuba Junkies Komodo.

The diving was amazing! I saw mantas (even though it wasn't manta season), sharks, turtles, and tons of macro stuff too. My dive guides Fauji and Jannes were excellent, and really knew the sites well.

Dive boats were large and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone, and the resort itself was perfect, in a very unique and remote location. The waterfront lounge space was just stunning at sunset, and a great place to socialise with fellow scuba-travellers.

Thanks to the whole team! I'll definitely be back.

We stayed 5 nights in the EN-SUITE room with AC. The room was big, nice and clean, with your own bathroom and a balcony.
The service was great. Very nice and helpful people is working here.
We dive with them 4 days. Breakfast and lunch in served on the boat. The dives sites were awesome!
Mention apart for our guide DIDI: this dude has an excellent attitude, he is very nice, funny and helpful.
If we come back to Komodo, definitely we will choose you again.

Absolutely a great land based option for Komodo diving! Great service with breakfast and lunch on board between dives. We dove all three days (9 dives) in the central area of the park and several guests repeated sites but all dives were great. Definitely for experienced divers to enjoy the depth, creatures and current. Staff is friendly if approached. We stayed in bungalow with fans, comfortable enough to sleep after a great meal and three dives. Shower is cold and refreshing but good pressure!
Dive boats are great and comfortable for a dive day with plenty of shade, loungers, and bathroom on board.
Met great divers from all over the world and would recommend this operation and location to anyone. Enjoy your holiday at Scuba Junkie.

Unforgettable divine experience. We stayed had 9 dives in 3 days. The reefs are alive and thriving. We saw such life from the smallest organisms, to sharks, mantas, eels and turtles.

The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. It felt like a family. And by the end of the 3 days we felt like we belonged there. It was difficult to leave.

To top it off, they have incredible chefs on board so you are well fed!

Had an absolutely incredible time at Scuba Junkie Komodo!!!! The diving was incredible, my guides, Fauji and Indra, were amazing (fun, engaging, safe, great at spotting things), food was delicious, boat was spacious, rooms were beautiful and clean, staff was so friendly. Great vibes overall — definitely recommend. I’ll 100000/10 be back!

A very well run dive resort who catered to all our needs at the drop of a hat. Staff were excellent, sharing dive knowledge and other useful information throughout our stay. The dive guides were fantastic, with very detailed breifings and clear detailed knowledge of each of the many dive sites, as well as also keeping us informed of any change of divesites due to tides/currents etc. Overall a fantastic dive resort and somewhere we will defintely visit again.

We just finished a 5 night, 12 dive stay at scuba junkies beach resort in komodo and had an awesome time. The resorts relaxed vibes with delicious food, clean facilities and comfortable rooms was just the start of things as our diving experience was unforgettable. Each of the dive sites chosen each day are tailored perfectly to suit weather conditions and skill level of guests with the utmost professionalism and safety standards adhered to whilst providing a fun and chilled environment on the boats. From the soft to hard corals, teeming shoals of reef fish, sharks and majestic manta rays the array of underwater life at scuba junkies dive sites is mind boggling. Massive shout out to our guides DiDi and Michael for making our time here absolutely insane, whilst helping us improve our skills and become better divers their breadth of marine and diving knowledge made every day super interesting, whilst both of them were epic for a chat and a beer about all things life. Also thank-you carlotta for organising everything so well and being super lovely over the duration of our stay :))).

Second time with SJ, still loving everything about it! During 4 diving days, I was super lucky to go to the North, Central, and the South. Experienced the shotgun and super man drift dive; unlocked dozens of new species; had the best sleep ever on the phinisi boat. The food is awesome and so are the staff. You’ll also meet diving enthusiasts all around the world sharing the same passion. If I had to pick a con, it is not as solo-traveller friendly if you needed the AC room like I do.. But still, I’d come back 100% because I need to see a blue ring octopus :)!

Diving with these guys was awesome! They adapt dive site and group to cater for everyone. Boat crew extremely helpfull andunderstand the handling of scuba and camera equipment.

The best land based option by far as they get to the best dive sites first due to proximity. Rooms and facilities were extremely clean and serviced daily. I had the cheapest option, twin bale, for over a week and was quite comfortable with only a fan. Food is excellent, they make very sure you are well fed.

We mostly dove in central and had some repeat dives, but that's due to the weather advisory and time of year. Plus, the dives are out of this world, and I now have more Manta footage than I could have ever hoped for.

Dive guides were highly professional and dive briefings were extremely thorough, especially with regard to currents.

Will definitely book again when I return to Komodo.

We had such a great stay at Scuba Junkie…the staff were amazing and their attention to detail was great. The local staff and boat crew in particular were so helpful - it was wonderful to have many local dive guides, and especially see a few Indonesian female dive guides. The team put on an amazing Christmas dinner for us all which was super special. The diving was incredible…so many great manta moments. Beautiful location - would visit again :)

stayed for 5 nights in a garden Bale. we loved it. Of course it has issues that any remote location has such as patchy internet but the service, atmosphere, food and diving were beyond our expectations. Can't wait to return

Only just left and thinking about when I can next go back. As a solo traveller I felt so safe and welcomed. The resorts location is stunning. The staff are all so friendly and kind. The dive sites were incredible, dive guides knowledgeable and the boat crew worked so tirelessly. I was not used to them doing so much for me. My final night was in a garden bale and I really enjoyed it!

Things to consider: usual issues with rental wetsuit wear and tear so you may wish to bring your own.

If you’re veggie - get used to tempeh! For me, it was delicious and plentiful. I’ll be attempting to make the dive snacks bananas at home.

To improve: totally understand that the resort is remote. I’ve stayed at similar with cold showers and shared facilities etc. But found a discrepancy between the shower facilities (surprisingly the en-suite room was far less powerful than the shared facilities and I resorted to washing my hair in the sink, others had flooding and other plumbing issues).

Overall an unforgettable stay and I will be recommending this experience to everyone. My main wish is that I wish I could have stayed longer.

Huge THANKS to all of the Scuba Junkie Komodo Family - from the managers to the housekeeping ladies! I did my Divemaster training with them back in october 2023 and it was such an awesome experience with a lot of laughs, truly amazing dives, mouthwatering food and some of the best people I met in Indonesia! The resort itself, the boats, the staff, the gear and of course the divesites are more than great. I learned a lot about currents, tides and marinelife in general. I absolutely looking forward to come back to this paradise place one day! Sampai jumpa lagi! ❤🤙

Had my refresher and 6 dives after a year of no diving (also being quite new - just 5 dives before).

Great team (very helpful and knowledgeable), beautiful place (sunsets are amazing here). Very good food (they are doing well on accommodating personal needs. It might get a bit repetitive but it’s still very tasty and good food) and overall price to quality ratio. Shout out to the DMTs and the team - had a blast here and would definitely come back! One remark on shared bathrooms - those should be cleaned a bit more often in my opinion :)

Very highly recommended. Everything was great, from the incredible food by the kitchen staff, to the dive sites, the social atmosphere and the focus on high safety standards and procedures. Divers of all levels of skill and experience are welcome here, and the staff makes an active effort to give everyone the best experiences. Special shout out to Irie, Mel and Rahma for being the most amazing dive guides. It will be a long time before I forget my time here.
