I love the view, what a nice and majestic view at Bukit Holbung. Went there on last Friday (25.8.2023) with the husband and siblings for our trip from Malaysia. Its cool since 4 days straight in Medan-Lake Toba-Berastagi, raining since morning. There’s sunny too but not that hot since its around 900m above sea level. Quite challenging to go up there but managed to do it well with 28weeks belly 🤣

I didn't even know that in North Sumatera has such a beautiful place like Bukit Holbung. Though it takes a lot of efforts to reach the peak, all your efforts will be paid off with the view from the top of the hill. And, you will realize how big Toba Lake it is.

The view was so beautiful and gorgeous. I could sit here for a 30 minutes straight just to have a moment for myself. The road might be challenging for some people, needed a quite skill to drive uphill to the parking area. Entrance fee was around IDR 10k-20k, paid with cash only.

On the entrance gate, there were few local restaurants that served instant noodle and fried rice. Price is reasonable, paid with cash only.

Thank God i got a chance to visit this place!! 😁❤ So happy!! Came to north Sumatra for a business trip and fortunately some colleagues offered a company to Samosir island. It takes around 2 and a half hours from ambarita port. You guys definitely should visit this hill while you are in Samosir. The view from here is so fascinating!
One thing u should know is the road to reach this beautiful place is so winding and sharp. But overall it is worth it!

Gorgeous nature with the best 360 views and you can see how vast the lake is from this viewpoint. You have to drive through slightly uphill dirt road to get here, and I'd suggest you to have a good driving skills before deciding to climb the hills (manual cars are preferable due to the nature of the roads). Entrance fee is around 10-20k per person, can't remember exactly how much was it. There are some traditional restaurants in the entrance that serve instant noodles. Parking spaces are available but limited. Mind the cow dungs.

One of the best spot in Lake Toba area, it's located on the back side of Samosir Island near the Tele area.

My first impression of it is that it's very similar to the popular Padar Island in Sumba. Beautiful hills combined with the legendary view of the calm lake is so unreal! Saying that it is beautiful is actually an understatement.

You can climb it easily, maybe will take you at most half an hour to reach the highest spot. The track is very easy to climb.

There are a lot of camping spot as well if you like to stay in a campsite.

If you wanna go here, you can plan your trip together to Efrata waterfall as they share the same main road. Mind you, the road is winding and certain parts of the road are not in good condition. Once you reach there, you got to register first and pay idr15, 000 each person.
At the beginning of the track there is proper staircase to reach up the hill. After that its only a natural trail. It is advisable to wear proper shoes if you intend to hike up further as the pathway has loose gravel and a bit slippery.
Once you reach the top, you are greeted with a magnificent 360 ° view of the lake, hills and villages. It was worth the hike and journey to get here. No regrets!

Nice place, the view is beautiful. They have 7 hills and it was amazing. But sadly it's dirty. You also can make a tent here. It's windy on the top and it will be so cold at night.

Very recommended place to visit. You must make sure your driver skill is good enough since the road is narrow and bad. You must parked your car and climb the stairs (maybe about 100 stairs). In front of the entry doors, you need to pay contribution fee about Rp 10k per person and parking fee. After climbed the stairs, you need to walk to capture the best scenery. Many people usually camp in here and do not respect people and the nature. There's also toilet and musholla near the entry doors. in the day, you can find store on the hill that offered fresh drinks, cigarettes and food. Please bring your rubbish back home if you visit this beautiful place.
