Not a big infra. One can go around in 15-30’mins . All surfaces painted with bright colours. Since it is maintained by the archeological survey of India, the garden and palace are well kept.

A big area, fort was bombed during 1799 and remains are easily spottable. Inside the fort there are so many things to see - samadhi, water gate for narmada river, ranganathsamy temple , Obelisk being the last point and the most beautiful view.
We went in our car and it was smooth, kept stopping in every spot being hardly 500 mtrs away.
Worth visiting.

Its a precious jewel as far as an historian is concerned. A model ro show the students of history. A naturally protected place with the Kavery river on its three sides, its a lagoon of an egg shape. The period of Tippu was an era of Britishers aggressive for its territorial domination on India. The Mysore was a threat to them as Tipu's weapons and style of war with well fortified area made the British feel shame. The fort is enough to study Tippus war tactics. A wonderful fort that every visitor has to go and study. At 7pm there is a light and sound shows.

Srirangapatna Fort is a historical fort located in Srirangapatna, the historical capital city of the Kingdom of Mysore in present-day South Indian state of Karnataka. Built by the Timmanna Nayaka in 1454, the fort was modified by later rulers and fully fortified in the late 18th century with the help of French architects. Rulers wanted to protect it against British invaders associated with the East India Company.
Rivers protect the fort on three sides. The river Kaveri borders the fort in one direction; in the West and Northern directions it is protected by the river Cauvery. The fort contained Lal Mahal and Tipu's palace, which were demolished when the British captured it in 1799. There are seven outlets and two dungeons.

Several structures and elements are maintained as protected monuments under the Bangalore Circle of the Archaeological Survey of India: Colonel Bailey's Dungeon; Daria Daulat Bagh; Gumbaj containing tomb of Tipu Sultan; Juma Masjid (Masjid-E-Ala); Obelisk monuments, and Fort walls near the breach the spot where Tipu's Body was found; the Sri Kanthirava statue in Narasimha Temple; Sri Ranganatha Svami Temple; and Thomas Inman's Dungeon.
