The place is good for one day visit. There will be less people and you can visit a temple here. They will provide free food here. There are no shops and you have to get some eatables & water. You cannot go there by normal car, you have to go by SUV or by bike.

One of the best places that I have visited so far in this year. Sometime unexpected trips will be turned out to be your best. This trip is like that for me. Serene place to visit with your family. Best place where you can go with your family you can do fishing, Cooking, swimming and then you can rest too. It is just 120 kms from the Bangalore. Two wheelers might feel exhausted while covering this distance in a hot weather though you will be welcomed with the water flow. You can take bath to ease out your tiredness and gain your strength back.
Things to keep in mind.
1) Have enough fuel back up. Even if there is shortage don't panic there are two petti shops on the way to the destination have petrol, where you can buy.
2) No UPI/ No cards --- Only cash. Since there is no tower, you will be barred from those options.
3) Food for you and do go when your bike is in better condition.

Good place for a one day trip. But I will recommend going to kaveri beach Talkdu rather than this as the last 17 km to this place is having a horrible road. If you have a good ground clearance vehicle and you are a pro driver then only go. No mobile network. Don't believe the YouTube video for the beauty and all. Your day will be gone. Be aware of the roads. If it rains a little bit over there then u will find more difficulty to drive.

A good weekend ride. It's a day trip. Perfect to enjoy as crowd is way lesser than compared to mekedatu. A bumpy ride though. There's a 17 km off road stretch to the place. Bikes would be okay. If it's car, ensure ground clearance is higher else I don't recommend driving in those roads. Keeping a spare tire and tools recommended.

This is a nice place to enjoy with family. Kids will enjoy the clean water. Only challenge is the road leading to the destination. You need to off-road for around 10 km through the forest. There are humps and small cars may find it difficult. Carry water and food along with you.

Roads are really bad. U need an suv to reach. Location is really beautiful. You can take bath in the river and also do coracle ride in the river. Lot of monkeys around so be careful.

A trip to Dabbaguli is a lot of fun, especially if you are into countryside roads, nature and a little bit of off-roading. If you reach really early in the morning, you might come across a herd of wild elephants and even if you don’t, you and your group might be the only people here at Dabbaguli with the exception of the temple priest. The huge trees, the temple and the Cauvery riverside offer the perfect environment to relax after a rough down hill unpaved path. It is not advisable to get into the Cauvery here, but one can simply soak in the simple offerings of mother nature, which we all seem to be missing in our cities.

If you have carried with you a picnic breakfast or lunch, do watch out for the monkeys and do remember to carry your trash back. Once you are done relaxing here and have sought the blessings of the lord at the temple here, head back the same way, but this time spending more time at the villages, admiring the old mud houses, having cheerful conversations with the villagers and exploring the rich farm land, whose produce varies with season.

For me, these small villages are as important an experience as the destination Dabbagauli as it is these farmers who feed our bellies in Bangalore. Do feel free to explore any of the many farm ways, but do ensure you do not trespass and if you wish to enter private property, do check with the farmer, who in all probability would be working in his farm during the morning hours.

If you feel adventurous and have time at hand, you can head all the way to Shivanasamudra cross crossing such beautiful villages. And enroute, there will be popular tourist attractions such as Mekedatu, Mutathi, Bheemeshwari, Galibore, etc. Or you could head the other way and ride all the way to Hogenakkal Falls further downstream on the Cauvery. And you will find many other beautiful countryside on the way.

Whatever your plan might be, Dabbaguli and this part of the Cauvery wildlife sanctuary and the surrounding villages will blow you away with their simplicity and originality. The pack all the ingredients for an absolutely amazing offbeat Sunday trip from Bangalore. While getting away from the chaos of Bangalore is the main incentive, this hidden gem offers way more than you have bargained. Do plan a ride here the next available Sunday you have and experience it for yourself.

Key words of wisdom:

1) Carry a puncture kit with you as there are no puncture shops in the vicinity

2) Carry some food and water with you at all times

3) Stay alert for wild elephants

4) Stay away from the Cauvery as she is known to swallow people from time to time

5) Carry all your trash back to Bangalore so that we let this place remain pure for the years to come.

How to get there (route map):

Bangalore –> Kanakapura –> Kodi Halli –> Hunasanahalli (if you opt for the good roads, else you can bypass this location) –> Bannimukkodlu –> Mugguru –> Manchukondapalli –> Dabbaguli (Dabbagauli) on the Dabbagauli – Kottaiyur road in Tamil Nadu. The last stop would be Hollakare Dabbagulleswara temple located by the banks of the Cauvery river.

Rough distance:

110 to 120 kms. The last 15 kms would be unpaved roads.

Entry Timings:

As this place falls under the Cauvery wildlife sanctuary, the forest gate opens only at 8 AM and closes at 5 PM. There are no entry fees, though the person at the forest check post might note down your personal and vehicle details for his records.

Where to eat:

Most restaurants and shops are present only till Kanakapura. Once you turn into the village roads, you will not get anything more than a glass of water, a cup of tea and some packaged local biscuits. For breakfast or lunch plans, I would recommend Kanakapura city. Do ensure that you carry water and some biscuits with you just in case you get delayed.

The river front is a great place to let your head down and get into the cold flowing river and relax. You can take a teppa boat ride as well to the other side of the bank which we didn't try. The gate to this place closes by 4:30pm, so plan well. But beware the road to this place will send a chill down your spine.

Really good spot, good one day outing nearby to bangalore.I would say good time to reach would be max by 8 to 9 am and enjoy your day alongside river cauvery. Govt should take care of the roads and lighting, this place can be made as a good tourist place. The stretch of 12-15km off road is adventurous and not safe for sedan like Toyota Etios, Suzuki Desire, Swift, Baleno etc and low ground clearance vehicles so plan accordingly. Also you won't be getting a good dine out options towards the route from Bangalore to Dabbagauli, so please carry your own eatables.

It's a beautiful and serene place. The fun fact is it's just 100 kms from Bangalore.
What would you find here:
1. Beautiful curvy roads
2. Amazing off-road section for around 5-6 kms
3. Thodi beach wali feeling
4. Pretty scenery

A perfect picnic spot.

It’s an temple situated at the banks of Kaveri (Tamil Nadu)

This place is almost near Karnataka and Tamil Nadu border.

But the roads are so pathetic so called off roads.

I would really prefer these kind of roads for bikers.
Temple beside a river and most of them know this place as well.

As people come here from both the states.
The other way to reach the temple is from boat to cross the border.

One of the best place I have visited.
The view is very beautiful and its a must visit place.
It has off-road for nearly 20 kms and there is no washroom and shops available anywhere between 20 kms. You should carry your water and food and do not miss to collect the wastes back.
If you plan to visit, please go with 2 more people as it will be helpful as the road between forest has none and can be helpful for each other (Personal opinion).
The road in Cauvery Wild Sanchery Forest is wonderful having Greenery both the sides 😍

They charge Rs. 30 for bike and Rs. 100 for a car as the Entry fee. And it's open from 8am to 5pm.

Nice place to visit , 2 patches of road are fully offroad with lot of sharp stones and muddy by car to cross it will take more time . Don't plan with low ground clearance vehicles and rainy days . No shops or food stalls are available so plan accordingly . Nice place to visit nature . There are two temples once reach there .

This the only way to dabbagulli temple which is at the border of Karnataka and tamil nadu on the banks of the holy Kaveri river. You need to take the kanakpura exit and then take a left towards this temple. There is no network services available. Well reaching there is a task but it has a pretty decent off-road trails and very beautiful views you can enjoy the drive or ride.when you enter tamil nadu. Local distric office will challan you for the entry which is only 30rs. You will not find petrol pump so make sure you are fully fuelled up.
If you are new to this riding or weekend driving. Make sure you download the offline Google map of this area so that there will be no issues finding the place. Anyways maps won't help. Just research the route.
It's a pretty good area for a picnic spot . Sound of river flowing and sand on the banks gives a different feeling. Make sure you do not take your vehical too deep inside . For more info check out my Instagram page @travelboyyash_

Awesome place to chill and do picninc. Clear water. You just need to find a clean spot for you. The are is big and the scenary is good.
It's a mild offroad if you have driven in villages. Fir regular city dwellers it will be a tough off-road.
Non adventerous and simple drivers would not like the ride.
I hope they don't make roads. Not everything needs to be mordenized.
