Ancient and historic temple worthy of a visit. The round boat ride might be risky, take necessary caution. Very limited parking available.

Temple dedicated to Narasimha Swamy in a massive complex belonging to the Vijayanagar era. The main diety has a weighing balance with a twig from the Gunja tree and hence the name Gunja Narasimha Swamy. Located on the banks of the Kaveri river, the temple is has inscriptions from the Vijayanagar period. The annual chariot festival is an experience of a lifetime.

This is the Holy Temple of Sri Gunja Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple. One of the special temple in these areas. This temple is situated at the Sangama (Merging) Point of 3 rivers - Kaveri, Kapila and Spatika. This is a Harihara Kshetra - where Sri Agastyeshwara Temple is situated opposite to this temple and one more temple. We can go to the exact sangama point by means of local coracle boats. They charge you Rs. 60- Rs. 80 per person. This might change. A great place for mediation and spiritual revival of self

Calm, good and a sacred place. Parking is available here (but paid). Temple maintenance is good compared to earlier. (Priests are not so friendly :/ )
The water body present in front of temple here is a Sangam of 3 rivers. Small boats also are there to go across the river. There are 2 small temples on the other side of river too :)

Once of the Holy place. Where you can see the two rivers(Kaveri and Kapila or kabini) will joining and creating one more river Spatika sarovara. There is a temple called Gunja Narasimha Swamy. Ancient temple.

The main reason of the name 'Gunja' is because the old sayings from all is that when weight of all the Narasimha Swamy (Don't know the way) where this Narasimha Swamy was weighted more of only one 'Gulaganji' (Rosary pea). Then the name of 'Gunja Narasimha' Started.

Near by places are Thirumakudalu, Talakadu, Mudukuthore, Somanathapura, Gaganachukki, Bharachukki.

Thirumakudalu - you can go by small raft (boat) or by road. Holy temple of Agashteshwara you can see. (View also from Gunja narasimha temple) Where the theertha is coming from the head of Shiva linga like same as Gokarna but not allowed to touch.

Talakadu - 14km.
Mudukuthore - 18km. (4km from Talakadu).
Somathapura - 18km. Different direction (towards Bangalore).
Gaganachukki Bharachukki (Shivana samudra) - 40km.

It is said that three rivers combine here. Due to debris and waste don't bath in the river but is a nice temple.

Hindu god Narasimha (holding a gunja berry and stalk) very ancient temple on banks of River cauvery and Kabini at T Narasipura. The idol of Lord Hanuman in the garba gudi of Mahalakshmi, said to be installed by Sage Kapila is so divine. Temple gopura is superb sculputures is impressive. So was the tastiest prasadam of pongal and puliodgare. It was a divine feel sitting on the banks, listening to mangala vadhiya, sambrani and jasmine fragrance in air. So soothing. 🌹
