Bodhgaya Bodhi Tree

Bodh Gaya is a town in the upper east Indian territory of Bihar. Thought about one of the really Buddhist excursion districts, it's overpowered by the old square Mahabodhi Temple Complex, attempted to stamp the site where the Buddha accomplished light under a heavenly Bodhi Tree.

It was lovely to see this tree derived from the ancient tree under which the Buddha gained enlightenment. There were Buddhist monks chanting in large groups under the tree. It felt quite a moving experience. The calm atmosphere here gives you inner peace and rejuvenates one's mind.

The tree you need to see if you are in Bodhgaya. Siddhartha Gautama, aka Shakyamuni Buddha, attained realization under an earlier growth of this tree more than 2500 years ago. A worldwide pilgrimage site. Well maintained, well protected. A must-see.

Recently, I visited the Bodhgaya temple in Gaya city. I traveled from Tatanagar to Gaya and finally reached Bodhgaya to visit the Mahabodhi temple, where Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment. It was a remarkable experience. I had the opportunity to see the Buddhist tree under which he sat and meditated. The serenity of the place was captivating, offering a perfect setting for finding inner peace. During my visit, I dedicated an hour to meditation, immersing myself in the tranquil ambiance. I was not alone in my pursuit of mental serenity; I encountered numerous tourists from diverse backgrounds, including the Philippines, Thailand, China, and Japan, all drawn to this place to meditate and explore their respective cultures.

One of the highlights was the 80-feet Buddha statue located nearby, which added to the spiritual aura of the surroundings. Overall, my experience was truly fulfilling, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. It provided me with an opportunity to disconnect from the chaos of daily life and connect with my inner self. Bodhgaya temple is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking mental peace, cultural enrichment, and spiritual growth.

It is such a pure and serene place. It takes off all the clutters of the mind and this place offers you peace. One should visit this place often in one's lifetime. The area is maintained so well, and the child monks are so simple at heart and full of purity. Two-three of them came up to me and gave me the Bodhi tree leaves, told me stories about the place (unlike the guides who were trying to make money).
This place is a must visit.

It's a very good place for those who want peace of mind because it's a peaceful place... If I could then i must visit here every week .. I feel very relax after visiting here..

Best place
1) only electrical vehical goes if u near to place it will charge only 10/-
2) no offers like flower and all you can take a bucket of fruits / decorated fruits / choclates for lord Buddha
3) you can also take buddha vastra in temple and give it to perosn in temple if you lucky they will touch that vastra to Buddha idol
4) keep silence in whole temple
5) do some meditation back side of Buddha tree ( tree where Buddha got atma gyan )
6) all over the whole environment is aweome peacfull and blesses

Finally Buddha enlightened under this bodhi tree. This is a Peepal tree.A place where I seat peacefully and spent approx three hours. This bodhi tree is of fourth generation and the age of this tree is approx 135 years old. It attracts you continuously by its huge importance. It is protected by fencing. Personally I believe that it brings you calm down. Gives you a huge energy from your inside. You will find happiness here.

Good place to meditate. You are lucky if you get this tree leaf. You can also hear history of this tree by monks. This temple upper part is made of pure gold which is gifted by Thailand king.

A great place with perfect vibes around. This place is always filled with people worshiping lord buddha and they carry a good enthusiasm. There is always a smooth chanting there and prayers all around. This place is filled with special agarbati used for worshiping which makes everything just wonderful.

Very beautiful temple must do guide to visit this temple very beautiful and nice history . The temple is very clean . Security is also very good. Photos can be taken from outside as phones and camera are not allowed inside. They are chargeable .

A serene and beautiful place to visit. If you are in Gaya, you must travel to Bodh Gaya, which is about 20kms from Gaya. Because it is worth of it. The Buddhist temple is worth to visit. You will get to learn the history of Lord Goutam buddha, and also about the origin of Buddhism. You must talk to the people over there as monk, they will guide and tell you about its history and its rich legacy. There are various other temples too like lord Jagannath temple and all. One mosque is also there, which depicts about the ethics and values of India which rely on "unity in diversity".Once you get in there, you will never feel like going out. Lovely place. Must go at mrng time. Silent and lovely place. Very well maintained. Cameras are not allowed inside. Infact no electronics items. Safe deposit is also available outside. The place is a must visit if you happen to pass by bihar.

Located in the premise of Mahabodhi Temple , the Bodhi Tree is the most devoted place for Buddhist people.
Mahabodhi tree is connected to the life of the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, who attained enlightenment or perfect insight when he was meditating under it. The temple was built directly to the east of the Bodhi tree, supposedly a direct descendant of the original Bodhi Tree.

According to Buddhist mythology, if no Bodhi tree grows at the site, the ground around the Bodhi tree is devoid of all plants for a distance of one royal karīsa. Through the ground around the Bodhi tree no being, not even an elephant, can travel.

According to the Jatakas, the navel of the earth lies at this spot, and no other place can support the weight of the Buddha's attainment. Another Buddhist tradition claims that when the world is destroyed at the end of a kalpa, the Bodhimanda is the last spot to disappear, and will be the first to appear when the world emerges into existence again. Tradition also claims that a lotus will bloom there, and if a Buddha is born during that the new kalpa, the lotus flowers in accordance with the number of Buddhas expected to arise.
