Beautiful temple, i went on a non busy day early in the morning. Since there weren't many devotees there at the time, the pandit ji explained to us about the temple's origins and details.

There is a sacredness in silence, and temples are the perfect place to experience it. Visiting Purmandal temples give you a memorable experience and you want to visit the place again which is a phenomenon with all religious places.

Ancient lord shiva temple having 1500 shivlings. There is a mystery behind the main temple of purmandal that how much of water are milk you devote to the shivling the amount remains same either you remove or pour extra but the amount of water remains same. Temple is around 200 years old. Also the place is famous for Gupt Ganga. Move the sand round you will find lot of water.

Great place to feel shiva must visit there once in a while most amazing thing of this temple is that the shivling is submerged in the water and only top of the shivling is visible it doesn’t matter how many gallons of water you put in it , the water level never changes

Awesome place . 20 kms from Bari brahmna kaluchak . The road is good and one can easily travel . There are few shops of pakoras , tea , colddrinks , etc. The Temple is situated some 300 mts from parking . The major attractions are Gupt Ganga and Mahadev shivling .Gupt Ganga is running below the sand on the path to temple and visible a hands below the sand . The most amazing thing about shivling is that the water level of kund remain the same despite of offering any amount of water . Must visit for all

Approach road from Ratnuchak Jammu to Purmandal is very good. 20 kms from National Highway. The temple is a Shakti peeth located at a serene place. The people around are very friendly as are all in Jammu Rural. Be aware of monkeys as they too want Prashadam. There are shops nearby for tea and snacks. Try Samosas and tea opposite Temple premises. Great quality and taste. November to March best time to visit. Temple is ancient and abode of Lord Shiva. A must Visit

Purmandal is a holy place of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated in Samba district over Devika river. There is a huge and ancient temple of Lord Shiva consisting of more than 1 lakh shivlings. There are many special reasons for why this temple is so famous! Firstly, the sand present there is considered pious. As we try to remove the soil with our hands we discover water!!! Secondly, we can pour infinite tons of water to the shivling of Shiva without even knowing that where that water is going?! Nobody knows where that water goes....
On the part of visitors, I would suggest that it's better to visit the temple in the soothing weather or winters otherwise the weather is too hot there. There are also many shops nearby and many provisional stores.

There are many palaces in the region, which also gives proof of the great history this place has experienced. It also has a large number of temples in the area for worshipping many different Gods and Goddesses. This rightfully earns Jammu the title of ‘City of Temples’. So, for anyone looking to take a break and relax for some time, this city has everything that you need.

How to Get There

Jammu is very well connected by all means of transport. It has a very active airport and a buzzing railway station. However, the most preferred way to reach Jammu is by a road trip.
