Best place to hangout with friends and family. U have to trek around 1.5 km to reach the hill top . Where u can the city view of khurda district. First do visit Maa Barunai temple button of the hill. U can also have some snacks at the parking areas. Must visit place. U can go at day time for better view night may be unsafe. Go in a group for better experience.

This is best place to visit with friend and family and also make bhoji party . There hill climb is go with your partner and also very fun top view is going crazy when you reach there .thare is trigger gumpha happen

Great place to worship, as well as to refresh yourself. Surrounding is very beautiful and peaceful. Can come here for picnic and there's even a small Trek over the hill. Driving alongside the hill will give a wonderful experience too.

Hill is nice... But people are throwing garbages here and there on the hill which is so disappointing.

At the foot of this hill , Maa Barunei resides, ypu can trek the hill to get a unseen nature’s view ⛰, though beware of 🐍. Approx 2 km trek to the top.

The best thing about this place is that the temple and the hill is quite peaceful. Like there are less visitors,so you'll find it easy to take photos.✌😉
Bt make sure you carry a water bottle with you otherwise you'll feel dehydrated.
And please don't go there in chappals(Coz the slopes are quite lofty).

One of the best place to visit here nearer to khurda, almost 25km from Bhubaneswar. Such a calm and quiet place to hangout here.

Good place to hike & spend time

Its a very nic place..Those who love nature and mountains, they must go to that place at once.It looks very beautiful in monsoon.But the way to go up is vry slippery so be careful for that..and there is also maa barunee tample in the Bottom of the hill overall its a nic place and jst 20km away frm bbsr so must visit once.Girls shouldn't go up the hill alone fr safety. That is also a great place for picnics, so you can go there with family and friends and have a picnic as well. There are also 2 shops outside the temple from which you can buy things.

A nice place for an early morning trek. Better to go after the sunrise since in some parts the path is covered with 6 feet high grass and that makes it difficult to find the way even during the day. The hike is of 1.5kms and an easy one. It is advisable to wear full sleeve shirts and pants since the path is covered with thorns.

Frankly saying nothing is there.....if u want a small trip or go on a bike ride then u can go for it. Roads are not comfortable. It's a kind of off road so plan accordingly. About the hills its a slant hill no stares just slant climbing so take proper shoes.

Such a wonderful place. In my opinion Spring season is the best time to visit this place.

If you love traking then this is the closest place one has near Bhubaneswar locates only 25 KM from city. A nice picnic sport with your friends and family. Also a place for short adventure. Preferable visit time is winter season.

The main campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is situated at the foot of Barunei Hill. Famous for its rich history of sustained resistance during 1803 – 1804 against the British occupation of Khurda Garh, the last independent fort of India, and for the first freedom struggle in India (the Paika Bidroha during 1810 – 1817), Barunei Hill is also a beautiful tourist spot. With Barunei temple, the Swarna Ganga, many spots related to the stay of Pandavas on the Hills during their agnatabasa, and the all-round greenery, Barunei Hill presents a major site of tourist attraction.

Barunei Hill is about 7 km long, 800 m wide, and 304.8 m above the sea level (150 m above the ground level).

Barunei Temple

The principal deities of the temple of Barunei are the twin Goddesses Barunei and Varunei. Clad in battle dresses, they are considered as the manifestations of Shakti and were worshipped by the kings and paikas of Khurda Garh whenever they proceeded to a war.

One has to climb 88 steps to reach the Temple. The idols are made in black stone (kala mugunipathar) and are each about 18 inch high. The two deities stand close to each other, with Goddess Barunei on the left and Goddess Varunei on the right.
