North Moon Homestay

Recently me and my friend visited fagu and stayed at north moon homestay for 2 days and 2 nights. It was really a fabulous experience for us and we enjoyed each and every day at this wonderful homestay. The food was fresh and delicious. We really loved the traditional himachali dish Siddu with pure desi ghee. I loved Mesmerizing scenic view of apple orchards, mountains and the pine forests from the balcony. You can also enjoyed beautiful sunrise everyday from the window which is just in front of the bed. The place is really calm, peaceful and surrounded by the beauty of nature. The hospitality of the family is memorable for us. If you want to spend some quality time with nature this homestay is a perfect place. I wish to be back here soon.

If you want to go to an off-beat location without going too remote, this is the place you should go without any question.
Though I went to this place with my friends but I found it equally good for families. You can easily drive to this place and trekk as well if you wish.
The rooms are made up of woods with the hiamchali architecture which gives a unique experince. Rooms are quite spacious and clean with all the modern facilities available.
Sharma ji and his family are really welcoming and the hospitality is quite generous. You can easily find all the things for your basic necessities.
This place has great vistas all around with majestic mountains and apple orchards and it's quite peacefull and serene.
You can trek to the nearby villages (cheog, theog etc) in no time and with minimal efforts wander in the local market. You can take a hike to Tungeshwari temple which goes through the most dense forest of asia and it will give you a mystic experince. One can easily hike to Deshu Temple and spend some quite and peaceful time there with friends and family and come back to the homestay in the evening and relax savoring the picterous views of mighty himalayas.

Overall this place made our trip memorable.

The experience at The North Moon (Fagu) home stay was ultimate and beyond words. The hospitality including food was best.

One of the most memorable stays for our family. Our 3 kids had so much fun. We enjoyed the hospitality of Sharmaji and his wife. Very clean and neat place, delicious food and overall it definitely is a home away from home.

• Great Hosts :- The entire family makes you feel like home, they feel like your own.

• Great Food :- You can taste the Himachal's essence in the food, the dishes are more than welcoming for a foodie.

• Great Location :- The orchid farm, the scenic mountains, the homestay itself feels like a perl embedded into the the entire slope.

The only thing which bugged me, that there was no direct access to the nearby market.
But hey? Who needs a market when you are out for a retreat.

The homestay was a beautiful experience with extremely sweet and helpful people and staff. The view from the rooms are the ones to die for and the rooms were extremely spacious and clean. Fresh home cooked food is something one would expect in homestay but this one was delicious as well as fresh. Overall it was a superb experience and looking forward to coming back to this place. The hosts are extremely amazing people.

We stayed at Northmoon Homestay in Cheog village near Fagu, in August 2022. It was a comfortable stay for our family of four - couple with two kids. We had the single bedroom to ourselves. It is spacious with an extra bed.

The homestay is easily reachable from Shimla-Fagu main road. The location is away from hustle of Shimla, but with all major amenities and attractions within driving distance. We were able to make trips to Shimla, Theog and Narkanda from the homestay.

The views from homestay are mesmerizing. The food is simple and delicious, just like one's home-cooked food. Suresh sir and aunty took great care of us and we had a memorable stay. Overall, highly recommended for family groups!

It is one of the nicest homestays I have ever stayed in Himalayas. Rooms are spacious, orchards are lovely and rooftop is awesome. Suresh ji and his family is a every warm host , his wife (aunty) was so caring like a mother and will make your stay comfortable. On the top of that, activities such as bonfire, karaoke, walk etc will add to special memories of the place. Food provided is quite homely and view is majestic.
It’s my next home in that region now for ever.

Love everything about this place from location, quality of service, the homely and warm welcoming hosts and best of all the homely food served hot with love !! We went to this place after seeing online reviews et all during summer vacation towards mid June of 2022 to hustle away from the excruciating heat of Delhi NCR. The place is situated in the hill town of Fagu ( the name comes from the foggy attribute of the area) and it really is Foggy when the clouds come down and hug the entire valley making it a misty heaven!! It's like 1.5 hours away from Shimla. A quite and a beautiful place surrounded by huge apple orchards and a magnificent view of the entire Himalayan range. We stayed in this homestay run by a local family. The place has recently built properties with huge rooms and clean bathroom and kitchen. Not to mention the place also has lovely pets (cats n dogs) that are going to make kids engrossed in a playful adventure. This place is a must must visit!! Can to wait to come back.

Visited in August 2021. Peaceful surrounding away from crowd at the same time close proximity to nearby spots. Very generous and humble host. Had some delicious Himachali food. Clean rooms, great view and treks nearby. Host is undoubtedly super host. Keep it up!

It was my first trip as a family of 3 (latest addition being my 18 month old Daughter). And it turned out to be an amazing one. All thanks to Suresh jee and Aunty who were an amazing host. This is a very homely place and has a very friendly atmosphere. The location and view is amazing- mountains, apple orchards, pine trees to name a few. The rooms and washrooms are very clean and the service is prompt. The food was very delicious and had a home cooked taste. Suresh jee also guided me very well for the 5 days of my trip in and around Shimla. I'll surely be added to their list of repeaters and there are so many prople who visit this property year on year. The greatest plus is that if you are travelling with a kid/infant they ensure that they do all that is possible to take care of the little ones. Hope to be back soon !

The homestay is amazing and is at a very peaceful location . Best place to stay near Shimla. One of my best experiences. I really enjoyed it a lot there.

Very comfortable and Spacious place to stay. The view of valley from rooms is stunning. All basic amenities of homestay is available. Overall great place to stay for family, couple and solo travelers. Will visit again.

This was my second visit to this place, and on my  previous visit I made a promise to return during the apple season. I'm glad I made that choice. All  around, apple trees were loaded with fruits. And  thanks to the hosts' warmth, we had the feeling  that we were at home.
We enjoyed chatting with everyone and their deliciously prepared meal, which included Siddu and wonderful rajmah chawal 😋.
I'll unquestionably suggest this home to anyone who desire to take in the calm surroundings and the Himalayan mountain range...... Once you've been here, you'll want to return time and time again.

- The food made with love and affection. The chicken made by Sureshji's son was awesome. (They are a vegetarian family)
- Being a starter of this homestay since 2009.
A great place to unwind and rejuvinate yourself.

Just what i needed. Northmoon has its own charm, be it the rooms, the views, the hosts everything is just perfect. I left northmoon with a heavy heart but a promise to come back as soon as i can. Thank you for your hospitality.
