A busy chowk at Nalbari

The name of this place became charminar chowk from 1990-1992 onwards. Before that this place was known as Durgapur chowk. The first shop of this place was Biren Das’s shop. It was tremendously huge shop during the early 1990s. That time Charminar (the tobacco company) put one ad behind the walls of the shop and due to the huge size this ad was visible from a great distance and thus the name came.
During late 1990s there were lot of shops ranging from Bakery, electrical equipments, restaurant, grocery items, CD/VCD rental, Hardware equipments, men’s hair saloon, iron wala etc. Now from last few years few new two wheeler showrooms are added in this neighbourhood.

It was a well develope area ,roads are in good condition and you can go to highway easily
