A very calm and beautiful place where you can visit and enjoy snow in the month of January- February

You can easily spend 3-4 hours just by sitting on the bench and doing nothing, you will feel that your soul is also enjoying it.

The trek - a person who doesn't walk on a daily basis will take 40- 60 minutes to climb and who is active will take 20-30 minutes.

The road is good, the horrible jungle has no shops nearby or people.

No mechanic shop in the region if your vehicle gets stuck so keep your arrangement before.

And please don't spread plastic or pollution there its a huge request from every vistor

I visited Shikari Mata Mandir in October 2023, and it was an amazing experience. The temple is located approximately 18 kilometers from Janjehali and sits at an elevation of 3359 meters. This temple is often referred to as the crown of Mandi district due to its highest peak status.

Shikari Mata Temple, situated atop Shikari Shikhar, is a roofless temple established by the Pandavas. It is said that the sage Markandeya meditated here for many years.

Visitors can explore various trekking routes to Chindi, Janjehali, and more from Shikari. From temple you can witness the mountain ranges of Shimla, Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti. The serene atmosphere on the way and the Deodar forests are truly captivating for the soul. A must-visit for nature lovers and trekkers.

Great experience as the temple is located in the lap of dense forest at a great height with snow-covered mountains all around .

A Hindu temple situated at a heavenly location. Near to Churag town in Mandi district.The temple is now connected by road (whose condition is still improving) just a few stairs from last drive in point. The View from the top is amazing all around. There is facility of the night stays as well.

I strongly recommend to all of trekking and nature lover , people can reach via bus as well as personal Vehicle.
Free food is not available but people can stay here free.
View is very wonderful

I recommend this place to all the nature lovers to visit. And those who love to know about the interesting history of the places you must go there. There temple is situated in a very beautiful place. And there is no roof on the temple . It is the belief that mata doesn't allow to cover the temple with roof so everytime when it was covered ,next day the roof is founded broken. And it is also says that not any single thing can pass from the top of the area

- Historical temple at the peak (10000 ft)
- Views you can actually feel the nature. Fresh air and cold weather
- Trek/Path really worthy, Last 6 kilometres are rough so preferable 4x4 or heavy bikes. I really recommend for trekkers.
- Approx. 1-2 kilometres are steep stairs
- Night accommodation near the temple.
- Be aware of weather. Temperature may reach below 0

Shikari Devi Temple is situated at the top of the mountain and Hills. Its one of the most beautiful temple and area of Janjehli (Karsog), Mandi. Beautiful Nature, Forrest, Waether and etc. Highly Recommend. Must go and enjoy :)

The Mandir is located at the highest point of Mandi District. There is no roof on the temple. One has to climb approx 1000 stairs to reach the Devi Mandir. The view from the top is beautiful. Was lucky to witness light snowfall even in October. Must visit

Shikari Devi Temple- A abode of Mata Durga in a roofless temple at a hilltop at a height of about 11000 feet (about 3350 meters) in the lap of Himalayas.
This temple has a unique feature of having it roofless. It is said that despite the numerous attempts the roof can't be put on this temple. The Shikari mata is said to be a 'Yogini Mata' & she is unhappy if any tries to put roof on this temple. Moreover, no bird & flying objects can fly above this. It is still a mystery of having this temple roofless.
As the story goes, Mata Durga starts residing this place on the request of 'Sage Markanaya' after his hard penance. After this, Pandavas during their 'Aghyat-Vaas' build this temple & 'Shikari Mata' gave them boon of victory against 'Karvayas'. But, it's not known why did they not build the roof on this temple.
After, the Pandavas left the place, the hunters used to come this place for hunting as this place was a lonely place surrounded by trees & forest. They used to pray 'Maa Shikari' for a nice hunt & by the grace of mata they used to get this. Thus they start naming this place as "Shikari Mata".
This place is beautiful & wonderful place surrounded by eye-catching scenic beauty. The mother nature is at its best.
You can reach the place by 'Trekking' from Jenjheli which is a long journey of 18 Kms having Glaciers in between which makes your trip mesmerizing. The alternate way to reach here is via hilly road (Only open in summer season). After the road journey, you only have 500 stairs to climb for.
You can have a short stay on this place for relax & fun in the lap of mother nature. Night stay can also be done near the temple premises or at jenjhali.

An dream destination for nature lovers. All round views of Himalayas from Shikari Devi temple at the height of 11000 feet, are pure bliss. A new katcha road from Karsog, takes you to the temple gate by car in less than two hours.

The road to the Temple is very bad . It is better to plan a long trip and cover the distance through walk and enjoying walking and hiking under the beautiful Nature .

Shikari mata temple is a famous holly place .. it’s situated in jhnjeli , mandi hp.. it’s at altitude 3359m above see level..

The temple of Shikari Mata is built on the highest peak in Mandi District.Very peaceful and enchanting scene, Proper arrangement of the inn for the pilgrims visiting here,and Small shops were also made for your food and drink.This place looks even better after snowfall

Very nice experience. A adventure trip. Jai Mata Di. Need healthy people to reach at the top. In between may be increase in heart beat. Also 16km road is dangerous
