It is a sacred place for Buddhists and Hindus as well. The temple is on a small hill and you have to walk for about 15 minutes uphill to reach the temple. The location is very nice and peaceful away from the town.

Such a beautiful place to visit with friends and family, As It is said that the Buddha meditated in this cave for years together before attaining Enlightenment in bodhgaya. It's very beautiful and calm place. There are three caves containing Buddhist shrines, where the Buddha is believed to have meditatedThailand king gifted the meditating statue of buddha which has been installed in the cave.

The temple is nice and everything is nice but if u want advunture you can go up without any way just tracking in mountain without any thing i will not recommend everyone to go up as its verry dengerous too you may dai if u fall while climbing its risky but if you reach up you will just see heaven you have to climb for 30-40 mins or 1 hr to if you are trying safe or you can climb in 10-15 mins too i advice to visit in verry morning try to reach this place by 5-5:30 because as the sun rise the temperature also rise if u want chill cold and silent environment try to go there in morning if u are not able to go up there are also many places below too to enjoy. But if u want to go up you should wear good shoes some saftey things etc.. and please dont try to go above the temple in evening as you can be a victim of monkey attack they are way to aggressive in evening and they even can attack on u . Roads thill temple are good have sufficient place for parking bikes and scooty car can also go up but there is a big bump in starting of the road which will let you go up but there is sufficient space for car parking bellow the mountain you can go till the temple verry easly just few metres of road angled up to 45°-50°. And place to visit with family and friends too .

Pragbodhi Hill/Dungeshwari Cave(Ancient Uruvela ):- This place has been witness to the journey of Siddhartha to Buddha.Gautam Buddha(Siddhartah/sugati) is said to have meditated for six years in this location before proceeding to Bodh Gaya (uruvela) to attain enlightenment. This place very important pilgrimage site of Buddhism in Magadha. On the top of Hill, there is seven 7 Ashokan stupa still there and telling story of Tathagt. Chines monk and Traveller faxian and xuan Zang aka Hwen sang visit place before 1600 year ago. Hill beauty beyond from mind, so calm and peaceful, when you on Hill You will back in 2600 year Because same nature same folk😊. Front of Nirajan river also witness of Buddha 🙏😊. That place 12 km from gaya well as well 20-25 km from Bodhgaya. So try to Visit, very peaceful places, Thank you 😊🙏 sadhu.

One of the best tourist places in gaya to visit. 15 KM away from gaya city, The dungeshwari hills are most famous for the cave temples where Lord Buddha is said to have meditated before arriving in Gaya for his enlightenment. From the top of the hill you can see the entire gaya city and it is amazing. During my visit to this place I claimed the hill to the top, to see the beautiful view of the gaya city. Attaching a few pictures clicked by me when I was on the top of the hill

It's Pragbodhi cave not dungeshwari. It is said that the Buddha meditated in this cave for years together before attaining Enlightenment in bodhgaya. Thailand king gifted the meditating statue of buddha which has been installed in the cave. The hill have stupas at the top of it. King Ashoka built stupas wherever buddha sat for meditation.
It's essential to note that the Sanatani brahmins have acquired the possession and made it a imaginary dungeshwari temple but in fact it's pragbodhi caves.

Save our heritages save the Dhamma.

Very nice place to visit. Although the way is dirty because the local kids and shopkeepers don't manage waste food packets and bottles.

Lovely place on the outskirts of Gaya. You can enjoy a ride through the villages and enjoy the lush greenery and crops.
Spend time in peace and dive in past when Buddha spend time here meditating.
✅ Parking available at top of the hill.
✅ 180° view of Gaya and bodhgaya
✅ Enjoy hiking and you can try exploring the nearby hills and caves.(be careful)
✅ Site with historical significance
✅ Cave with a peaceful environment
❌ Don't carry any food items as there will be monkeys around. Also don't feed them.
