A historical place. A resounding witness. The oldest Catholic mission in Jammu & Kashmir (India). After partition, during an attempted invasion of Kashmir by tribal lashkars and the neighbouring country's soldiers, a few religious faithful and the locals were cruelly martyred in a violent bloodshed. St. Joseph's Church at Baramulla stands tall to this day, loved by the locals, irrespective of their creed and culture. I had the privilege of offering the holy Eucharistic celebration on a few occasions. And I love to visit this evocative memorial. God bless Baramulla.

A beautiful 18th century, Gothic designed Roman Catholic Church. It’s the only church in this town. Very peaceful and historic church. Must visit this church which is 55 kms from the Srinagar city.
