Our college is one of the best college and the all over either its the teaching staff or the seniors or any other related to our college is all over good.This college is situated at perfect location which makes easy for students to travel.

Government College, Baramulla, situated at a distance of 51 Km towards north-west from the summer capital of Srinagar, is emerging as a premiere institution of higher learning in Kashmir, which over the last six decades has been imparting higher education to the people of this region. Over the years the college has produced men and women of eminence who have been contributing towards upliftment of the society in various spheres of its activities.

An English medium school, founded by the Catholic Missionaries at Baramulla, by Father Ignatius Brower and Rev. Father Simmons in 1905 and was upgraded to High School in 1913 and then gradually upgraded to the status of Intermediate College in 1938 and eventually to Degree College in 1943. Government College Baramulla was affiliated to Punjab University Lahore. It was closed on 27th Oct. 1947, re-opened on 28th June, 1954, as Intermediate college, affiliated to the then University of Jammu and Kashmir and further upgraded to Degree college in 1956. The college was subsequently taken over by the State government on the 1st of April, 1963.

Government College Baramulla attributes much of its success to the rich cultural heritage of Baramulla district in general and Baramulla town in particular. The college is located in the lap of a hillock, 4 Km ahead of main town on Srinagar-Uri National Highway road Baramulla. The high literacy rate in the town, its multi-ethnic character, tolerance and inter-community brotherhood has had its impact on the healthy growth of this institution which has proved a beacon of light for others to emulate.The college offers Bachelors general courses in Science, Humanities, and business studies.

The institution apart from the routine teaching activities has a lot to offer to its students for all round development of their personality. Students are encouraged to participate in curricular, co-curricular and extra curricular activities. Symposia, debates, discussions, seminars, dramas and competitions on different areas of social, cultural and academic importance are organized. Inter and Intra-college competitions are conducted, wherein the students are exposed to multifold cultures and ideas.Add-on-courses are available to the bonafide students in Apiculture, Data Care Management, Social work and Still Photography. The Government College for Boys Baramulla (Urdu;گورنمنٹ ڈگری کالج بارہ مولہ) also known as Boys Degree College Baramulla, is a University Grants Commission autonomous college in Baramulla district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an autonomous college recognised by UGC and is affiliated with the University of Kashmir. The college has been awarded a grade "A++" rating by the NAAC.
The college is located in the lap of a hillock, four km from the main town (Baramulla) on the Srinagar-Uri National Highway. It was established in 1943. It is situated at a distance of about 51 km from the state summer capital, Srinagar.[1]
The Boys Degree College at Baramulla was established as an English medium primary school, founded by the Catholic Missionaries at Baramulla, by Father Ignatius Brower and Rev. Father Simmons in 1905. It was upgraded to a high school in 1913. In 1938 the school was upgraded to the status of Intermediate College.

It was upgraded to a Degree College in 1943, and was affiliated with the Punjab University at Lahore. After the Independence of India in August 1947, the college was closed 27 October that year (after Pakistani rebels attacked Kashmir).

Boys Degree college Baramulla was re-opened 28 June 1954 as an Intermediate college, and was affiliated to the then University of Jammu and Kashmir. Further upgraded to a Degree college in 1956, it was subsequently taken over by the State government on 1 April 1963. It is currently affiliated with the university of Kashmir, and recognised by the University Grants Commission under the UGC Act 1956.[2] Government Degree College Baramulla is the first institute of Jammu and Kashmir State to start undergraduate course in Mass Communication in 2002. It offers two degree course in Mass Communication viz. BMMMC and MCVP which has changed the media landscape of Kashmir in substantial ways having strong alumni working in various local, national and international media units

This college is not like other colleges...its situated in calm and soothing environment.

It is great historical college established in 1905 in Baramulla Town. It has scenic beauty and stands as hub of education in Baramulla district.

I HAVE COMPLETED MY MASS MEDIA ON GDC BLA BUT THE INFRASTRUCTURE IS NOT TOO GOOD WHICH I HAVE EXPECTED BUT OVERALL ITS GREAT
