Taj Theog Resort & Spa, Shimla

This resort is located around one and a half hours away from Shimla. We were lucky to have witnessed the first snowfall of the season. The food was fresh, awesome and tasty for our liking. The hospitality team was super helpful and tried their level best to help us reach Chandigarh in time for our breakdown cab and blocked roads due heavy snowfall. The Taj hospitality was top-notch.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful property nestled amidst stunning vistas. While its location may be a bit off from the city, the tranquility and natural beauty it offers more than compensate for this. What truly sets this hotel apart is its commitment to providing unforgettable experiences for guests. From invigorating treks to delightful picnics, there's never a dull moment. The staff, with their warm hospitality and helpful demeanor, further enhance the overall experience. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape.

This superb property boasts fantastic amenities, including a heated pool and jacuzzi that add to the luxurious experience. While the activity center could benefit from some maintenance, outdoor activities like the snow walk are enjoyable. The food, while acceptable, could certainly be enhanced for a more satisfying dining experience.

The Taj hotel, Theog was adorned in a blanket of snow during our visit, transformed into a winter wonderland. It exudes luxury with its breathtaking views, opulent decor, and impeccable service. It’s fine dining options showcased a culinary journey. The attention to detail and personalized touches elevate the overall experience, making it a haven for those seeking a luxurious retreat amidst nature.

My stay at this hotel was nothing short of magical. The breathtaking views from my room were absolutely amazing, making each moment unforgettable. Whether it was sunrise over the mountains or city lights at night, the scenery was a constant delight. The hotel staff was attentive and ensured I had a comfortable and memorable stay. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stay with stunning views that elevate the entire trip.

Me and my wife staying in Radisson jodhpur for last 2 days . We did feel extremely comfortable. Housekeeping staff members like akansha are very supportive and sweet fulfilled all requests in time . Thank you for hospitality 👍

Amazing place to stay. I stayed there along with my wife and 6 years old daughter, totally loved the place. Hat's of to taj for there amazing hospitality. They actually know how to pamper there guest. Would recommend others for sure.

Its a beautiful property on the top of the hill with beautiful views from the room and from the entire property. Its around 7500 ft above sea level. The best time to go is when it snows the entire range and everything from the hotel looks white and beautiful. It starts snowing from December end till February. The hospitality and the food is amazing. They organize live music in the Bar called theog junction every weekend. They provide coupons for one plus one free drink. We had a wonderful stay it's expensive but worth it.

There is magic in the air at Taj Theog. The location is perfect to rejuvenate our minds and body. The food is delicious. The menu gives many options for Indian as well as continental food but their local Himachal Thali both veg and non veg shouldn't be missed.
They explain every single food item in detail so it helps in making better choices.
We had an amazing lunch at this place while we were in mashobra. The route is mesmerizing with many picture perfect spots.
Strongly recommend to visit this place and enjoy.

Awesome property by Taj in amazing location. Valley view rooms are a treat to the eyes such a picturesque view from the private balcony.
Also need to mention about in house staff and service extremely polite and courteous.
The food is amazing so far my personal fav is their cheese kulcha so crispy flaky and tastiest and also their Himalayan Apple pie.

Warm staff,smile on the face, helpful from the point of check in to the exit. The level of hospitality is just amazing. I must add, the life and soul of this place is Mr.Bhandari, the F&B Manager. He made the stay so comfortable, took care of all our needs and made it extremely comfortable for our 6 year old. Mr.Bhandari is the epitome of what hospitality industry should have as a role model. He is the life and soul of Taj Theog Resorts and Spa & a great asset to the Taj Group. We will surely remember this stay. Will come back very soon with our family and friends.

I contacted Mr Ashish Rana for the stay at the place and he got arranged everything so perfectly .From the moment I arrived, the staff especially Mr Ritvik went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction.The luxurious accommodations and exceptional service made my stay truly memorable.I loved the location ,its so picturesque that one enjoy watching sunrise and sunset with delicious foods at their restaurants.

This is an outstanding place for a luxury Himalayan holiday! The hotel offers mesmerising , panoramic view of the Himalayas, with the snow mountain of the. Holi Kinnaur. Kailash right up the northern horizon .
The hotel staff is very cordial,caring and do best to pamper your culinary experience. We stayed for 3 nights and had all meals the hotel . ‘ Ritika’ at the restaurant was outstanding . Her gesture to serve and attention to details was very professional and caring .
The icing on the top is the heated pool and addictive Jacuzzi hot spring like experience , this one is a delight index!
And then, the mesmerising moment led to a a memorable day, a walk in the nearby woods on a snowy afternoon. The experience of taking this narrow snowy path, enveloped by dense cedar and pine trees , enlivened, my entire Taj Theog experience . Must mention made possible by able , young , knowledgeable activity lead Anil Kimta from the activity team of Taj. The magical moment made me feel as if , I was led into a fairy tale , when I sipped hot cup of tea and bite of a cake that Anil very carefully and kindly got for us . A day that will always stay with me.

We planned to spend some quality time together on our wedding anniversary.. so, after going through a list of hill destinations, we zeroed down upon Taj Theog Resort & Spa. And in 3 words, if we’d to define it, they’d sound… Lap Of Luxury.
In all these years, we’ve visited many resorts but this place was different… here we didn’t visit a resort.., we visited ourselves. Here we didn’t go out for adventures rather we met the adventure within us. With the heavy snowfall, there was a dip in temperature but we could still feel & sense the warmth in our welcome.
The place brought a stillness in us with it’s silence. And engulfed us in calmness. And, this anniversary has been etched in our memories for a lifetime as the most memorable & soul touching experience of all these years of being together with Taj state of art hospitality, which truly was a class above & apart.
This feedback can never sound complete without mentioning some names from the hospitality team. Anisha, we both owe it to you foremost for being there as someone no less than a caretaker in every sense of the word. Your deep personal attention towards every big & small detail that made our stay perfect was commendable. Your being available with a smile always on your face showed the spirit which you carried inside & when you love your job, it shows in your eyes. A BIG THANKS FROM BOTH OF US.
Mrinalini, Priya & Mohit from the reception made us feel that we were among friends & it showed in every gesture of theirs for us. And now about the two maestros of their fields, Yash Bhardwaj, the flute maestro dissolved melodies in the air & mesmerised us with his enchanting soulful flute playing. You were outstanding Sir.
And now for The BIG ONE, The Boss, The Man Who Served Happiness with His Food, The Executive Chef, Mr. Hushmoin Patell. A Big Shout Out to the man behind every dish that tasted heavens. Our taste buds are thankful to you for giving us those everlastingly delicious meals that made it feel all worth it. Sir, you’ve showed it to us that a chef is no less than an artist & meeting you in person made us believe that legends are for real. Congratulations to the entire team & stay humble & polite just like we found you.

A fabulous experience . Courteous , hospitable and extremely efficient staff. Excellent food. Picturesque location. Indoor heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi. And great activities in the games room. A special mention for Mr. Sachin and Mr. Amrinder , they went an extra mile to make us most comfortable. Would definitely like to stay there again.

It’s really peaceful to stay at Theog Taj. I visited the property in September 2023.
Mr Bhandari and Ms Rachna have done extraordinary for us. We were overwhelmed (specially my mother) for the complementary room upgrade, thanks to Rachna. Mr Bhandari, the restaurant manager, has taken things personally and arranged very delicious and pious FAST food for my mother. To a greater humanitarian note, they did not even charged for such food.
Visitors should attempt for - Evening tea, sabudana khhichari, Pizza and a typical soup before Himachali thaali.

Thanks to the staff they were very amazing and hospitile enjoyed my stay the food was delicious especially the gucchi/ yellow morels a must try delicacy of Himachal and the breakfast was great too one of the best buffets I have had better than many five star chains …. Great jacuzzi people should really book a slot for it the pressure was amazing and all my back pain went away such a great relaxing weekend I had also they gave me a complimentary cake and decorated my room toooo I was soooo happy and flattered by their gesture 🩷 great hotel great staff a special thanks to the cute bartender he made me his special drink 🍸 the pomegranate ginger drink it was very refreshing and tasty thanks a lot to everyone had a blast with y’all … hoping to see you all again very soon 🧿🩷

Though we had been to several Himalayan and other destinations, this was our first to shimla.

Taj Theog is class apart. It is unlike any other Taj properties.

In all the aspects- hospitality, cab and travel assistance, house keeping, food, activities, Architecture, interior————— in all the ways its excellence is obvious.

Special thanks to the front desk - Anshul, Niraali, Deepak for a smooth and absolutely hassle free check in and check out.

Its location gives you beautiful views of mountains and deodar forests. North Gardens, garden walks, are a pleasure. I enjoyed the balcony — room 434- I recommend because you can comfortably see sunrise and Mount Kailash clearly from here.

My son enjoyed food and activity area.. my husband enjoyed sprawling lawns. Having food in the open outside the restaurant in warm sun is awesome.

Special thanks to our Chauffeur Raman, for he is very very skilful along the ghats and narrow hill roads. He has good upkeep of vehicle and absolutely professional.

Special thanks to laundry, for their help in delivering my sons clothes after the laundry closed. We needed early in day at 7 am. They did it in an amazing way , uncomplaining.

The interiors are soothing and stunning, with beautiful hand paintings all over… Themes in room designing , furniture and lighting are aesthetic and functional .

I can go on and on in appreciation of Taj Theog Team.

Among the most amazing luxury stays of my life, truly incredible. The location, nice and quiet- ideal for nature lovers, the view, rooms, amenities, interior decoration and architecture truly pampers the guests.

Excellent hospitality. Excellent staff. Never a complain at the TAJ.
But a group of young noise boys ruined the piece of the night. Even after request from the hotel staff they were noisy till 3 am. And I had 2 disturbing nights.
So my lively stay package was 3 Days & 2 (SLEEPLESS) Nights.
