The temple of Shri Kshetra Jwala Narsinha Teerth in Kole Narsinhapur is truly captivating. Shri Narasimha killed Hiranyakashyapu who had obtained boons from Lord Shiva. The story says that no one can kill Hiranyakashyapu In or Out of the house, neither in the day nor in the night, not by any known living thing, not by any weapon so he was killed by Shri Narasimha, who appeared from a piller, in the evening, on the threshold by unknown living creature by his nails.
The main deity of Shri Narasimha is underground. Temple is located on the bank of river Krishna.

We found this temple accidentally, while searching some info on Kolhapur. This Narasimha temple is a must visit place. The murti is the worlds largest “saligram” and it’s just amazing to look. Situated on the banks of Krishna river, you need to go down below the basement level to see this murti. A huge history behind this temple. The village itself is so beautiful and it’s a must visit place.

This is very divine place. Idol in this temple has history of over 5000 years. Temple is underground with continuous water beneath the idol. It is located on banks of Krishna river and has stunning view of the river. It is very well maintained and one of the must visit place near Sangli/Kolhapur.

One of the most beautiful temple of Lord Narsimha. The road to this place is very simple once you reach Islampur. I often tried reaching this place from Karad under an impression that the distance is less, but it is confusion a bit. The people in Karad are not aware of this place. They often direct you somewhere else and your journey is ruined. The temple is very well managed by a group of Kulkarni's in the village. Lush greenery and coconut trees nearby the river makes the place incredible. The Narsimha Murthi is of from a single piece of Shaligram stone which was found in near this Krishna river. It is said that Lord Narsimha had appeared in dream of a person and told about his presence near the Krishna river (see pic). Dont you think ... you should not miss to see this in real ? Go of it...

Shree Laxminarasimha (Jwala Narasimha) selfmanifested idol at Narsimhapur (kole), Tal.Walva, Dist. Sangli,Maharashtra,India. The place has same importance as Multan (Pakistan). This is biggest Shaligram idol in world. This idol was appeared in front of sage Parashar during deep meditation .after satisfaction he emersed in river krishna .Later Narsimha idol found by king Bhimdev of Kundinyapur and was later installed by him in A.D.178.

Must visit! A fully magnificent form of lord Narasimha. Fully made of shaligram not carved. It was self manifested before parasara muni in krishnaa river. Having the form jwala, most ferocious, the deity was kept in water. Later a local Kong made this fantastic temple.

Kole Narsinghpur . Shri Jwala Nrusinha Tirtha, Kole Narsinghpur, !! Ta. Valava Dist. There is a self-made idol of Lord Nrusinha at Sangli and it is said to be about 7500 years old before Mahabharata. This temple is 14 feet below the ground near Krishna. . Kale - Narsinghpur famous area! Krishna beach beautiful ghat sacred character ! Devalayi Param Gupta Bhuyar Shrestha! Idol ancient Ativ Nrusinha Jestha !! . इ.स. When the idol of Nrusinha was discovered in Doha by King Bhimdev Kaundinyapur (Kundal) in 107, he got this idol and set it up. The idol which was given to the father Parashar sage in the pre-Mahabharata Veda is located in the same basement. इ.स. 1124 Saint Shirmani Namdev Maharaj's 6th ancestor Yadusheth had come here from Riley village for the service of God. 3-4 generations lived here. Ramdevrai Yadav, Devagiri built the underpass of the temple from Hemadri Pant. The inscription is carved in stone on the first step to the basement. The only way to reach the idol is through the basement. The actual idol is enshrined on the water level of the river Krishna and is carved in an unbroken black shaligram. Nrusinha is holding a hiranyakashpus lying on his thigh and his fingers are stuck in his stomach. Dashavatars are carved on the effect of the idol. The idol is beautiful. The lines on the lion's hand are also visible. Next to Hiranyakashapu is an idol of Lakshmi. The idol of Nrusinha is called 'Jwala Nrusinha'. There is a Tulsi Vrindavan at the top of the basement where the idol of Nrusinha is, and the old, weak devotees who cannot go down to the basement pay homage to the idol in the basement in front of the Tulsi Vrindavan. A short path from Tulshi Vrindavan leads to the idol's nave. Located on the scenic banks of the river Krishna This is an ancient temple.

This is one of the most serene and beautiful temples of Maharashtra. Also one the very old temples on the bank of river Krishna. The temple and it's surrounding areas are extremely peaceful. You can easily spend an entire day in the temple and on the river bank. The big coconut grove is also one of the highlights

narsinmh temple situated in banks of village the specialty of this temple is that it 50 feets below in the ground and having very old statues in it. The name of this village is due to this god narsinmh. You must visit these places because you will in love with these place after visiting it.
