Mathoor Aqueduct

Located in the Kanyakumari district approximately 50 km from Kanyakumari near Kerala border. It is claimed to be asia's highest aquiduct. Its length is around 300 m. It is built over parali river flows through Western ghats.. the small ponds called as lagoons between the lush green forest will mesmerize you and that beauty is unexplainable. The width of the pathway is just one and a half feet and if you have phobia of heights than it will be very difficult for you to cross the entire stretch. It will come on the way to Trivandrum just 1 hour distance from poovar back waters. You should adjust it in your itinerary while going towards Trivendrum.

Must visit. But please be very careful if you are planning to take a swim. Running water is very strong and can be fatal.

Beautiful views from the top of the bridge and a good place to spend some time. There's also a place to get into the river below and play/take a bath.

Crossing the Mathur Aqueduct is like walking on a super cool bridge in the sky! You can see so much greenery and a flowing river underneath. Walking on the bridge, makes it feel like an awesome adventure for kids who love nature and a little bit of excitement! 🌉🍃

This bridge was built during the era of Former CM Kamarajar. This is built at the height of 115 feet.
The water running through the channel is clean and sorrounded by scenic beauty and it's fun to walk on the bridge enjoying the lush green scenery.
I would suggest to go at evening after 4.
Car parking available and they charge 50/-

Awesome planning and construction for a purpose! Hail late Mr. Kamaraj, Ex-Chief minister of Tamil Nadu for this amazing project dedicated to the people of that district!

A connecting aqueduct which transports the water in a elevated corridor
The scenery that you will experience in the aqueduct would be so great and wonderful.
A lot of tourist spots are nearby and easy to visit them
Thirparappu water fall is nearby and must visit place along with this.

One of the best place to view the beauty of Nature from the top of the bridge.

Note : Plan to visit this place at the evening time. So, it will be a best place to have some refreshment with frds or family members...

First time, I'm seeing this kind of bridge. To help the other side people agriculture, they made this bridge. Great work, big salute to CM Kamarajar sir. 101 feet height and 384 meter length, wow. Entry ticket is only 5rs.

This aqueduct holds the distinction of being the highest in all of Asia. As you traverse it, you will be enveloped in a delightful breeze and surrounded by lush greenery. The water is pristine and inviting, offering an opportunity for a refreshing swim.

Nice place for visit and the best place for couples good nature and nice climate pure water I think it’s the second large water flow in height bridge it’s nice for playing with friends swimming and best place for weekend visit there is a shops for refresh and not restriction for bath there it’s safe but not without know swimming some places are depth there are full of rocks and sand but there are more number of steps the leg pain peoples are not able to walk quick

It was fun walking alongside with the water channel connecting to another village. Evening times would be nice to walk and click few scenic pictures with friends and family members. Good time to be spent.

Asia’s longest and tallest aqueduct in Mathur tamilnadu. You can explore nature and wildlife in Mathur. You can bath in river. Best thing is they allow everything like photos and video shoot without any charges…

Great place to visit and go for a walk on the river bridge at a height of 101 feet from ground level. It's provides a great view of the jungle around and the mountain range. A nice palce to visit with family and experience the bridge walk at just a nominal entrance fees of Rs 10.

One of the best places to hang out with friends weekdays is not that much of a rush,
River water is clean and can have a chill bath 😁.
Native people are very polite too

Must try pineapple from there, all cultivated by native people and will get quality honey at a reasonable rates 👍

A good place to go and take a quick break from the flow of life and have a bit of fun.The bridge is pretty high in altitude and gives some really good views to snap some pics. Can't spend a lot of time but limited fun moments. Overall it's a good place to visit.

Update - Oh boy, brings back memories. As someone who is afraid of heights. I'm glad to say I regretted it and I would do it again.
