Bishnupur Bazar

Famous for fermented bamboo shoots, locally known as "SOIDON". There's another type, SOIBUM, which is a more mature one between the two types. Fish and vegetables are also abundant here.

Bazar closes at around 6:30 am to 7 pm in winter ( during Christmas season exception ) and during summer 7 am to 8:30 pm. forest procedure's and vegetables are brought early in the morning sharp as 4 to 4:30 am.Thanx

Ah yes another favourite place of mine. There was a madman there. He came up to me and said, "Hey man, I know a place that we can hang out." Curious, I said, "Sure man, whatever you say." So he took me to this place where there's a lot of trees growing and said, "Man, this is where we hang out." Feeling a bit skeptical, I said, "Hey man, what is your definition of hanging out?" He said, "Here man, lemme show you." Then he proceeded to tie a rope around his neck and jump off from the highest tree there. Then I said to myself, "Ohh so that's what he said."

Bishnupur bazar is situated on the southern side of the Imphal city... Here, we can find different kinds of shops and restaurants. Different communities and tribes contribute to buying and selling. Bamboo shoot selling business is famous for this market. Local products on foods utensils are found in this area. Generally, inhabitants of Moirang, Thanga, Kumbi, keibul Lamjao and Wangoo areas have done their marketing in this bazar. Besides with reagad to office and institution, majority of the offices are also found in this place. Leikoi Paat tourist centre is also situated in this area.
