Hidden gem admist nature. The lush greenery and the scenic beauty will enchant you. Truly speaking spiritual person will feel the presence of divinity once you climb up to the top of the waterfalls. Maa Ambika temple is regarded as one of Sati peeth where toe of Devi sati fell. And if you could cross the rapid river ( obviously in winter, spring and summer ) then you can have darshan of Lord Bhairava ShataRudra. He resembles like Kedar nath Shivalingam. And if you climb few steps above you can have darshan of Devi Varahi.

Always remember to wear comfortable shoes for a long walk stretching for about 2 km and 400-500 steps to climb. Carry drinking water. One has to enter the check post before 2 pm and can roam around upto 4 pm in the evening. But it is advisable to start as early as possible in the morning. Don't treak in monsoons since it's a reserve forest and the water levels are high.

Heavenly Devkund: A Must-Visit for Nature Lovers

Devkund Waterfall in Mayurbhanj was a revelation on our recent Holi vacation! The place truly lives up to its name, which translates to "The bathing spot of the Gods." ❤

Few things to keep in mind:

Distance from Parking: Be prepared for a 1.5km walk through the forest. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water, especially if you're visiting with young children or elderly family members.
Overall, Devkund Waterfall is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. It's perfect for families seeking a break from the ordinary and a chance to reconnect with nature. We highly recommend it!

Devkund is a naturally created pond located in the Mayurbhanj district..... The flowing water from an adjacent waterfall has created this pond.....
From the forest check post to the parking space the distance is 4–5 km, which is travelling on the bolero ( rented) of locals then walked for 2-3 km in the jungle to see the waterfall.... From the waterfall you can visit the temple by climbing around 500 stairs which is very difficult...... There is a temple at the bottom of the waterfall which is so beautiful and peaceful neat and clean..... It's a nice place to hang around..... Worth it to visit...... 😇😍

This waterfall is a religious one and a large number of people come here to witness its natural beauty. From the forest check post to the parking space the distance is 5kms. And from there a moderate trek of 2kms has to be done to reach this beautiful waterfall. Bathing is not allowed here and going in the waterfall is strictly prohibited as guards are present there to keep a check. From the waterfall one can visit the temple by climbing around 400 or more stairs which is very difficult. My request to the tourists is please do not litter this place as it is well maintained by the forest department of Odisha. One can also watch the beautiful wild flowers on the way to the waterfall. Carry a water bottle with you but don't litter the surroundings.

Awesome place to spend your weekend here with nature's beauty...
Had a peaceful day.

I recommend you to go in a group so that you can enjoy there and take water bottles with you. No networks in side it. You can visit the temple above the waterfall.

If you plan for multiple place to visit then don't go here. Plan a separate day for spending most of the time here.
