Very nice homestay. It is across the river from Mahabodhi Temple, 5 min by auto-rickshaw. You can choose food from a menu, and someone is always available to attend you.

Unforgettable experience in Bodh Gaya. Islam and his family will make you feel like home at all times, help you with whatever you need and their kitchen serves great food on their terrace at really great prices.

I came for the Vipassana meditation and they kindly let me keep luggage here and assured me a bed upon my return. It's always nice to feel that you've found a home away from home.

The price/quality ratio of this place is probably unmatched in all of India, so don't miss out if you are visiting the land of Enlightenment and Salvation!

What a beautiful experience we had at Ansari house. How good it is to feel part of the family so far from home. Islam was very welcoming from the first beginning. His space is beautiful, with a wonderful view, in addition to being calm and peaceful. It is a perfect refugee in India. The food is delicious and the chai is very tasty! Everything served to us was served with love and dedication. Seeing the children around the house, the birds singing and the peace of nature did us a lot of good. At one point I got sick, and Islam helped me with medication. It was a unique proof of affection! I recommend it 100% to anyone thinking of going to bodh gaya. And I will definitely be back. A big hug to you and your family my friend.

What a wonderful place to stay. Ansari House is in Sujata village which is just across the dry riverbed from Bodhgaya. You can choose to get to the temple via the dry riverbed, which takes 15 minutes or if you prefer to walk along the bridge it will take 20 to 25 minutes. Personally preferred being a little bit out of the way from the main town as it was nice and quiet in the evening and the walk into town gave an opportunity to prepare/meditate before entering the temple.

Islam and his family/children are fantastic. It was very easy to have conversations as they all speak superb English. They all work tirelessly to accommodate everybody staying there. The extremely low price will not be matched by any other place in Bodhgaya.

Stayed in one of the dormatories but there are single and double rooms available if that is your preference. Mosquito nets over the beds ensured a pleasant night sleep. The rooftop is also a nice place to relax and mingle with the other travellers and food is available there as well.

All in all, a really memorable stay for a week. You will be treated as one of the family when you stay.

In Bodhgaya due to the foreign tourists visiting Mahabodhi temple its hard to find a budget option near the temple.
This place is situated right in opposite direction of the river to the temple. It's 400 metres away through walk. The good thing is you can go directly by crossing the river as it kept dry most of the times except the rainy season.
This place is run by a family as a homestay or semi hotel. And this is the best part because here you will feel like at home with the family. Every member of the family is humble and supportive.
Nowhere you can get a good bed under ₹180.
So, i would recommend this place specifically to solo travellers. Here you will find a lot of them like you, mostly solo travellers stay here. Also a good stay option for families.

Quiet homestay in the countryside with unforgettable sunset from the very large terrace. Amazing human experience with the owner and his large family. Authentic place if you are looking for peacefull and restfull location. Very good price. Only 10 roupies to reach the place by crossing the river (take the bridge and turn right).

Super nice family guesthouse!
The owner and his family are very friendly and helpful. The walk to the city (15min) is a very nice through the dry river and it is nice to stay outside of the busy town. They offer fresh and healthy food and filtered and cooked water to refill your bottle and reduce plastic. The family has a lot of adopted kids. They are around but are not loud and very sweet. It's nice to help this social project.

This is one of the best guest houses I've stayed at in all of my travels. Amazingly welcoming and generous family that makes you feel at home. The location is a bit of a long walk from the city, but this makes it quiet and very peaceful. The dormitory is extremely affordable and the food is decently priced and very tasty. Oh, and they have hot water for the showers!

Top notch guest house in local village across from the main temples in Bodh Gaya. Beautiful and hospitable family. Stayed for the Dalai Lama's teaching in December 2022 and it was one of my best experiences in India. Highly recommend

Wonderful hospitality, atmosphere, food and human connection here. The family is outstandingly friendly. The quiet of the area and the short walk into town is a perfect retreat away from chaos. Beautiful views of the temple across the riverbeds as well. I will remember the views and the sunsets from the rooftop aloft with interesting and engaging conversations among family and guests alike!

Islam and his family are really great! You will feel like at home. They serve tasty and well cooked organic food that they grow by themseves. The house is situated just 10 minutes from the main temple in a very quiet and peaceful village. Due to the distance and the absence of street illumination is not suggested to walk back here after dark, especially for solo travellers. The kids of the house are very quiet and polite, they all make a fantastic family and in just few days you will feel part of it!

Ansari House is a gem of a guest house set in a queue and peaceful rural setting of Bodh Gaya. This is an old hospital/dispensary which was converted. Islam and his family who run this guest house, use it as a means to support the orphanage they have in the same premises. Staying here for a few days was such a pleasant experience! The rooms are basic but clean and spacious. There is round the clock running hot water and proper hot showers! The food they served here are all organic, from their own fields. They use ash instead of pesticides to achieve organic farming! The food is absolutely lovely and large portions. Be sure to try the Thali and the green Tulsi tea! Most of the guests are foreigners who come to enjoy the calm, peaceful surroundings, the lovely food and the great people who run it. When I was there with meditator friends from several countries, found that other similar minded people come there. Islam and his family are very genuine people who are looking to make your experience one to remember.
