The beautiful campus situated near river satluj,with a touch of history of the place, this institute is one of the best institute in terms of teaching, in terms of research, architecture and other things.The campus is spread over 501 acres with almost all facilities inside including grocery shops, stationary shop, post office,bank,medical center etc.Also sports complex is under development which includes cricket pitch, hockey ground,football ground, athletics,volleyball court, tenis court, badminton court.good mess facility and best hostels.

It's very nice place. I enjoy campus life two days with my son. I never think before that I will celebrate my 15th august at IIT . I m proud of my son.

library that remains open for 24 hours. Ropar has an air conditioned large central library. The computer centre is also well air conditioned and it remains open for 24 hours. Faculties are so helpful.... 👲

The current campus of IIT Ropar has a cricket ground, football ground, hockey ground, badminton courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, tennis courts and tables for Table tennis. 😊
The equipments provided to the student are of the best quality and the students are guided by experienced coaches in each sport.🏅👤
IIT Ropar organises its sports fest AAROHAN evey year which involves a huge participation from the neighbouring colleges of northen India.😊👌👌👌

Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) is a public technical university located in Rupnagar, Punjab, India. It is one of the eight newer Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011 to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country.IIT Ropar has shifted to its permanent campus since June 2019, except the departments of Humanities, Mathematics, Physics, Chemical Engineering and Civil Engineering, and some hostels and labs. Architecture of the entrance gate is inspired by Indus Valley civilisation with four 41 feet high stone carved  pillars at the entrance.The institute started to operate from its permanent campus from July 2018. Some phases of this campus were still under construction. The campus was being built on the land earlier known as Birla Seed Farms. It is located over an area of 525 acres (2.12 km2). IIT Ropar celebrates its Foundation Day on 24 February every year. The contract was given to CPWD and a Bangkok-based construction company was assigned the task of finishing the first phase. The Computer Science Department has been shifted to this campus in July 2018. A part of the administration office was shifted on 17 June 2018. In June 2019, the Administration and Departments of Electrical, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering completely shifted to the permanent campus.

Currently it has 2 campuses, old n new. In few months all depts.will shift to new campus. Faculties r cooperative n friendly to students. All other staff is also very helping.

The new campus has just opened and it's magical, in summers the outside temperature is unbearable but the campus is fully air-conditioned so it's great. The campus is enormous and very clean, everything is just setting up as the place is pretty new, the old campus is horrible!

The institute currently has 11 departments, 1 multi-disciplinary centre, and 1 DST Technology Innovation Hub.
The institute offers undergraduate programmes awarding Bachelor of Technology in various engineering areas. Admission to these programmes is through JEE Advanced. The institute also offers postgraduate degrees awarding MTech and MSc (Research) in various engineering fields, as well as MSc in basic sciences. PhD courses in various fields are also offered.
IIT Ropar has ranked on 205th position in the QS Asia Ranking 2020. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked it 301–350 globally in the 2020 ranking. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked it 25th among engineering colleges in 2020. India Today ranked it 11 among engineering colleges in 2020.

Nice campus to visit

I visited this place for recurring staff. I really feel the infrastructure of IIT Ropar was good and beautiful. So people of recurring that time were so polite in nature and they solved all queries as we needed. So being a visitor of IIT Ropar i really like this campus because of the infrastructure and brand of IIT.
