The airport has improved significantly in the recent years. The international terminal is closer to the city. Immigration and Emigration are carried out very efficiently by polite officials. For incoming flights, prepaid taxis are available and is recommended. The police officers are very helpful to tourists.
On the way out, check in and security clearance were very smooth. Please do not forget to collect the vouchers for free internet from stands near check in desks. There are free handy chargers and very comfortable seating. Water dispensers are available There is now a better selection of duty free shops, bars and cafes. The facilities were maintained very tidy and clean when I visited.
I wholeheartedly recommend Trivandrum airport.

Most of the other airports in the country is either too far away from the city or in the outskirts. This airport is inside the city and is accessible to the national highway which is a stone throw away. As it near to the kerala Tamil Nadu border it is monopolised by frequent travellers from TN . This is the only airport which reschedules its flights twice a year for the deity lord padmanabha to pass through the runway to the sea for the temple festival.

It's a very huge International Airport with a lot of parking facility. And a tea stall, coffee stall and all kind of sandwich available on there. Good environment and a pleasant feel when you're in there.

There are two terminals. Terminal 1 is for domestic and Terminal 2 for international flights.
It is fully air-conditioned with WIFI facility. The terminal features spacious lounges, natural lighting with extensive use of glass roofing and better conveyance facilities for passengers. It has three baggage carousels and elaborate immigration/customs facilities. Flemingo, India's first privately owned duty-free operator is managing the duty-free shop at the international terminal.The domestic terminal has basic amenities including cafés, a book-seller, duty-free shopping, free local calls, phone-recharging points.

The first airport in the state of Kerala and fifth international airport of India, officially declared in 1991.Renowated recently with modern facilities and design. Well maintained, green and clean surroundings.A very wide area for car parking is available.There is lack of traffic sign boards exactly in the signal or turning area. Shop are available but, it’s expensive even for water bottle also. Air port authority to control the cost for the air port users.

One of the airports in Kerala which is very accessible for the people. It is very close to Trivandrum city.

Customs are professional. Local Connecting Availability is very good. It's easy to get a bus and Taxi . Bus connection to Train just away from 4 km

Airport is very calm and pleasant,not much crowd and staff is good. They speak Hindi well and the check in counter agent was knowledgeable and guided me well as this was my first time in here.

The next step was baggage center, they guided well on what to be done, provided boarding passes and guided me on how to proceed further for security check in

Security check in was at 1st floor, the staff was good and respectfully attended me and my belongings for checking.

The gate boarding was smooth as well and got a direct entry to flight door from the gate itself, the flight was late but arrived at Mumbai airport before time.

So this was really a good experience for me as a first time in Thiruvananthapuram airport.
