View and location is awesome. The rooms were Very clean and comfortable. The hotel is on beach road . Specially for balcony lover this is a suitable choice.

Room 90 is very much recommended if you have 4 travellers, it has a really good sea view(but without balcony).

On our first 2 visits we stayed here. Nice cosy place. Good food. Bit of colonial taste in terms of timings and food choices. Would have loved to stay there again during the third visit but unluckily could not get the details over the net. The only drawback, I feel.

It was an excellent experience in Motel Mermaid.We had only 1 day stay but extended it for half day due to its location and late plan make to visit Chilka. The Non -AC rooms are very airy and it gives an excellent view of the beach from the balcony and from the room. While the AC ones are on back side which are equally big rooms with balcony view of nice little lawn on the backyard. The rooms are properly maintained which makes it even more pleasant to stay. We also enjoyed Cappuccino in the Corner Stone Cafe which was just awesome . Reasonable rate and located in the ground floor of the hotel with great ambiance. Last but not the least the hotel staff were very cooperative.

Very pretty and unexpectedly delightful. Cozy rooms with nice beds, toileteries and wash room. The hotel has ample space for parking too. The owner is a nice jovial woman, and her daughter also runs the Cornerstone Cafe, inside the hotel. There's no dinner/lunch service available though. Loved the experience.

Decent standard stay, AC rooms, lawn facing balcony, special mention is their collection of wall paintings, very beautiful.

I think this is one of those hotels which are well maintained and affordable at gopalpur, considering location, rate and overall functionality to give visitors a pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Good place to stay, theme of the hotel is also nice but some improvements in room no 90 is necessary like charging points ,toilet jetspary and washbasin. Otherwise overall the hotel is good, i personally liked it.
Cornerstone cafe is right in front of the hotel reception it was good too.
I would like to suggest, improvements, decoration in the back side of the hotel for outdoor restaurant and cafe or for any other purpose.

We stayed there for 3 days. Rooms are nice and spacious. Hotel staffs are well behaved and cooperative. Non ac rooms are having nice sea view. There is a cafe on the ground floor of this hotel.

Recently we went to Gopalpur-on-Sea for a short break (1st week of October'17). During our visit, we stayed in a very nice property with homely atmosphere, just beside the sea beach with parking facility. The motel is run by an elderly lady with nice personality and warm behavior. The entire atmosphere of the motel is highly hospitable. Behavior of the staffs are good. This property possess a high end cafeteria named Cornerstone though it has no restaurant facilities which can cater the requirements of lunch and dinner.

It was a great stay at this property. The rooms are spacious and great view of the sea from the room.

The best Motel/Hotel in Gopalpur in the budget category. Especially the small yet spectacular cafe with the natural calming ambience. Not to forget the two dogs(Sherry and the other idk) who for obvious reasons are the best companions anyone can ask for ! 😁😂 Extremely neat and tidy. Kind of a British Indian theme but loved the place. Literally. Also, extremely cooperative staff. Well ventilated rooms with a separate balcony and oh ! Not to forget the beautiful lawn ! Gonna stay here the next time i visit Gopalpur again for sure !

It was an excellent experience in Motel Mermaid...we had a visit to Daringbadi and then we had a plan to go to Puri..but due to the devastation caused due to Foni...we had to change our plan and we decided to go to Gopalpur...The owner of Deers Eco home in Daringbadi suggested another hotel but when we reached there we found the rooms were like prison..then we found this hotel... Motel Mermaid...via one of the friends and wellwishers of our family... The two days plan extended to 4 days stay... the rooms are very airy and it gives an excellent view of the beach from the balcony... we also enjoyed cold coffee of the cafe in the hotel...it was just awesome..our daughter enjoyed the most...last but not the least the hotel staff were very cooperative..especially Nila di and Damayanti di...In short we can say that the tagline..." where hospitality comes naturally" is perfect for this Hotel...Thank you everybody for making the trip memorable..we wish Good health to Mam...

Very homely n fantastic food. Don't miss to visit the cornerstone cafe in the hotel. The sundaes, burgers n pizza's too too good.
