Well maintained, clean with green grasses and peaceful atmosphere to meditate on the great dynamic young Indian PM. The sculpted history of his life, about modern india, fraternity, equality, social upliftment of poor sounds prophetic. All that remained was praying for his soul, his family, the envisioned india and self examination. A peaceful place to pray meditate in silence. Only thing is you park in damn sun and the grilled security makes you think you are entering wagah border post or israel check post.

Good place with plush greenery.

One can go with the family and enjoy. Excellent for evening family outing.

Security check is so strict and they treat the guests in a very harsh way, which the government really should look into.

This is a memorable park in the memory of former prime minister of India Mr. Rajiv Gandhi and the park was established at the very place where Mr. Gandhi was assassinated. The park is situated almost 40 km from the Chennai City. This is a highly protected area and nicely decorated with trees, stone carvings, beautiful architecture. The exact point where he was assassinated, there is a stone pebbles made collage photo of Mr. Gandhi and a red coloured stone placed under it.

Pleasant place to visit. I would expect every public place to be maintained in the same way. Strict no for plastic and eatables inside there. so the place looks tidy. Lawns are neatly maintained. The police men surveillance is there all the time so no one is dare enough to scribble or write scrap things on the monument unlike other places I visited. Must visit place.

This Place is Filled with the good names of RAJIV GANDHI... Nd his deeds for the welfare of the people, for the nation.
How he helped in the progress of India, in different sectors i.e., economic sector, information technology sector or the IT sector , bringing the concept of globalisation etc etc .

Sad to know his demise on the place 💔

Nice palce to visit our leaders place...🤩 Good attraction place and atmosphere..Security also is very high and perfect.Good ambience, Greenery and a cool place and atmosphere.former Prime Minister of India, occurred as a result of a suicide bombing in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu, Memorial is surrounded with green park, with huge space for good breeze.
It includes tall Indian Flag and 4 big pillars carrying Indian symbols in top.and a beautiful lawn. They also hoist the national flag everyday ( I hope). It was so nice feeling to visit this place.
The memorial seems to be a good effort but lacks the soul and feel..an attempt to integrate but at a personal scale feel it's lacking the X-Factor. The place is few kms. Away from the main city, still is again most sort by both the locals and the tourists a's it is memorial of Rajivgandhi a former prime minister of India .still more trees can be grown for the people find it difficult on a hot sunny day."The path of Light" traces Rajiv Gandhi's final steps leading to the site of the assassination. The concept reminds us of Mahatma Gandhi's final path as seen in his memorial Birla House in New Delhi.
For foreign visitors The Rajiv Gandhi Memorial may not be necessarily a must-see "attraction", but it is recommended for those exploring the modern history of India.
I was glad to be able to see this interesting place.

Beautiful place to take a peaceful relaxation. Nice place. You shouldn't take any eatables inside. Must take water-bottle, there is only water taps without tumblers. You can't buy any snacks inside, there is no shops. Parking available at the front gate without shelter. At exit you may bought coconut juice at moderate price.

If you are ever on the way from Bengaluru to Chennai by road, you will come across the small town / village of Sriperumbudur - known for being the site of the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination 30 years ago on 21st May 1991.

In the midst of the daily hustle bustle of the countryside, you will suddenly discover this huge memorial, a sharp contrast to its surroundings. Peaceful, calm and quiet, you can spend about 30 to 40 minutes roaming around the park, reliving history and admiring some of the best modern day architecture in these parts.

Being a history buff, I personally was attracted to the enormous historical significance of the site. First of all you can stand at the edge of the central area, where you can see the "Path of Light" where Rajiv Gandhi took his last few steps. When you aproach the exact spot of the blast, you have a huge granite slab with Rajiv Gandhi's photo on it (which is said to have been sourced from one of his biggest admirers in Karnataka). Surrounding the site are 7 granite pillars, signifying 7 values. But what you will find most intriguing is a small jasper stone in front of the granite slab, the only thing which has remained untouched from 30 years ago, this being the stone where his head had fallen. Irrespective of your political views, the emotional aura of the place warrants that you stand silently for a few minutes paying homage to the PM we lost quite early and tragically.

Next you can roam around the hige park, admire some of the stone graffiti. The place also has excellent rest room and drinking water facilities. In short, a must stop on the highaway, even if it is to see the Indian flag waving high amidst the breeze, or to sit on the grass and get a few moments of peace.

A great memorial for a leader and politician like Rajiv Gandhi, who was assassinated at this very location at Sri Perumbathur near Chennai on May 21, 1991. The place is maintained well and the atmosphere is calm and quiet. The memorial is is open from 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM. I visited the place around 10.30 AM and the atmosphere was quite hot, but evening time would be more suitable in my opinion with lights and better weather. Great place for a short visit and does not take more than 30 mins to complete the tour of the memorial. There is no entrance fee.

A well maintained memorial place for Rajiv Gandhi. Not much place to sit. Cannot take anything inside (especially eatables). No shops nearby, except a tender coconut shop close by. Ample parking space. Entry is free. Best time to visit would be from 4 to 6 pm. The flag lowering will occur at sharp 6 pm.
