The views from this zostel are beautiful especially when it snows. The hosts ensure that they spend quality time with you. The food is made fresh in the kitchen and is delicious. I am a frequent visitor only because of the hosts.

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was top notch, rooms, cleanliness, food, view from balcony, staff and the host.

The hosts are lovely people, very caring and friendly.

The last three kms to the property is off road and the final 1 km is a test to your driving skills. If you can drive through here, you can drive anywhere (snow terrain will be the exception).

Went there in October, must visit for a 1-2 days totally offbeat. Rooms are clean and nice, washroom is super clean. The chefs in home are make some lip-smacking food and the view is super duper awesome. Once or twice a year it is a must visit. One more thing, the owners are you super friendly and awesome folks. All in all AWESOME EXPERIENCE

What a view.....what an Exquisite place and property. If you want to visit a place which is less commercialised and crowded, this is the perfect destination.

This place is an amazing and a rare find if you want to experience laid back himachal vacation. This place is an offbeat destination offering beautiful valley views. One could experience serenity and relaxing time off.
Perfect for star gazing lovers. The property owners are very warm where you'll feel like home. They go out of their way to make it a comfortable stay for their guests.

The location is offbeat and perfect to disconnect from the world.
The hosts make sure you get the best of the food and stay whilst you are there and their dogs Ivy and Beyonce are a cherry on the cake.
To add to this, their fresh Apple Juice is to die for.

Stay was absolutely amazing. The rooms were exactly how they're shown in the picture. We chose for a balcony view room and it was just perfect. Zostel was super clean, absolute homely feel. The cook asked us if we would be having dinner there only and we were served with two veg dishes along with a chapati and salad. They also served us with apple chutney which was extensively delicious. The FOOD HERE IS EPIC. There were two dogs as well and they met us at the door and I went absolutely 🥺
Location is bit off the road but I would still recommend it 10/10 ❤ Must visit place.✨

If you really want to enjoy your stay high in the hills with prime view. This property is top of the list.

This was the best stay I have ever had! The location was offbeat and secluded from the daily city chaos, so serene and so peaceful. The rooms were very clean, cozy and luxurious in terms of a homestay. The food was so delicious and mouthwatering- I will recommend to DEFINITELY try their homecooked meals!
Where to start about the host family, they were phenomenal. One of the most welcoming and homely family I have been in contact with. Staying with them felt like I was staying with my own relatives. They made me have some experiences that I wouldn't have been able to have elsewhere, with all the warmth, kind and loving environment.
They deserve all the stars and I wish them all the very best💕

This property is amazing, we stayed here with our friends ( 6 adults and 6 children) and our experience was awesome. Very clear and nicely maintained rooms, common area and kitchen... Wooden floors all around give proper Himachal heritage feeling and common area is so cosy and beautiful where you can sit, chit chat and spend quality time with friends and family.... Staff and care taker were really nice and polite.
Food was delicious... I would highly recommend this place.

Remote area, should use an SUV if you book here (experienced driver should be able to handle the car in dirt road as it is still a kaccha road) . 2-3 tricky bends rest is easy road. My i20 went in there to the parking place of zostel home. They have 5 rooms in total, we booked 4 of them for 2 days.
The food is of good quality and taste . Should tell in advance to hotel staff for meals, so they have time to get items necessary for specific dish. Usually they have most of the items at hotel. Should try siddu ghee it is a very tasty sweet dish here. Should inform 24 hours before for this dish as it takes time to prepare it.
early morning view and evening view is beautiful here. Can enjoy indoor games here at the hotel. Pool, carrom, read books or play guitar 🎸 at their common room.
It is for those who want peaceful and calm place with no disturbance of city life. Rooms and facilities are good.

We wanted to go to a place that has easy connectivity from Delhi and at the same time is far off from the hustle bustle of the common hill stations. We had stayed at 2 Zostel properties earlier but we have to admit that Zostel X Theog is indeed the best one we have stayed so far. Not only in terms of the property but also in terms of the location, the amenities and most importantly the hosts, they are warm, extremely welcoming and are there for anything that you need always with a smiling face. I had asked them to arrange a birthday cake & some candles and they readily did it. The hosts, Mr. Sandeep and his wife Mamta Ma'm, specially decorated our room with balloons, a greeting card and a gift just to make the birthday more memorable and it was the best gesture anyone could do to complete strangers. The food was awesome, the caretaker/ cook Vickybhai was awesome. He made delicious food and was always ready to serve us with anything we asked for. Mr. Sandeep parents are also there to help you with local guidance and we enjoyed a lot with them as well. Mr. Sandeep suggested us to visit Nagodhar village which is at a distance of around 6kms from Zostel X and I have no words to explain the beauty of the place. He had sent a person Luckybhai with us and he was the nicest person explaining us about apple plantations and the business over there. The rooms were excellent, clean and the view was mesmerising, exactly as portrayed in the photographs. To put everything in a nutshell, we got exactly what we were looking for, a cosy relaxing time with no agenda and with really good people around. I would really recommend this place for anyone planning to visit Theog or Shimla or Kufri to stay at this property and enjoy interaction with the hosts Mr. Sandeep & Mamta Ma'm. Thank You.

Very good place with a lovely facility. Host Rinku made sure we were comfortable from the time we arrived to we left. Please check their apple orchards for the tastiest home grown apples. Clean and spacious rooms are the highlight.

The place is absolutely mind blowing.. Very beautiful and serene.. The best part was the view from our balcony.. The whole valley is visible! If you're looking for a quiet and peaceful place, then this is the perfect place to stay. The owners, they make you feel at home, they are very welcoming and helpful.

About 30 kms from shimla theog is a little abode of heaven and this little cottage a little off the highway in a small village called bhalech is a cozy little home away from home!
Mr Sandeep Verma and his wife Mamta are the warmest of hosts who specially arranged local food for us freshly grown in their own farm nearby and prepared with love in their kitchen. The fresh fruits from their orchards were cherry on top!
The cottage is warm with lovely wooden interiors and surrounded with beautiful views! Mr Verma takes care of little details to make sure the stay is amazing!! He received us in theog to guide our way to his place and made sure we saw the most untouched isolated and did I mention spectacular hidden places around! A little bonfire in the evening, pool table in the balcony, crazy uno and chess sessions at night have given us amazing memories to live by. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended getaway place!!

the place is beautifully build and kept. its a secluded place where you can enjoy that distant dream of having a villa in hills. the owner himself cooks and takes good care. the indoor fire place and low seating dinning space were my favorite. Must visit if you want to enjoy time with your travel buddies , without sacrificing the luxury.

This is just the perfect place nestled in the hills near Shimla. Stunning views on offer from this cottage. The cottage itself has splendid interiors and looks straight out of a Ruskin Bond story.. The owners are the warmest and most hospitable people. This is the perfect place to hang around, and spend time reading a cosy book and do nothing. However, if you're interested there are couple of easy day hikes which offer spectacular views. Highly recommended!

We had booked this place in the month of February. By the time we could reach the place it was 9:30 in the night and it had got super cold outside, believe me when i say it because we were about to freeze out. When we reached the location it was so calm and serene and there was no one there except a couple who supposedly were the owners of the property and had come down only for us. They were really sweet, helpful and they had also cooked for us (what more can you ask for). We had a chat with the couple over dinner and we did like them alot. Talking about the place, it is really beautiful and well maintained. The view from the room is mesmerising.

Great food, great staff, beautiful property and the owners were really friendly as well! Would recommend this place to those who want to take a break from the city hustle and buzz! It's a calm and quiet place. However there's not much to do outside of the property. Everything is really far away, so if you plan on staying indoors for a bit, this place will work for you. And if you want to explore, this property is way out of the main city of Shimla and will require transport and atleast an hour of travel. So choose your stay accordingly.
