Sri Markandeyar Temple, Thirukadaiyur, T.Manalmedu

Temple steeped in history and known for Abirami Andhadi and Abirami Pathikam was just getting to be busy when we went there on a early morning. People throng this temple for marriages and there were plenty that were happening when we visited.

Beautiful temple, get to understand philloshopical inference on markandeyan story, very blissful abhirami, really abhirami sundari.
many long lived couples u can see at once.keeping out of judging How fullfilled they lived, still they r attempting to live together itself a great learning point on tolerance give and take complimenting each other.

Birthplace of Markandeya maharishi. Neatly maintained by trustees. Who are also performing 60th, 70th and 80th age attained devotees at Thirukkadaiyur temple

Ancient Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva (Kalakaleswarar). Markandeyer has a separate sanithi here.

Calm place. Usually not crowded. Decent parking is available. Lodging facilities can be availed at nearby Thirukadaiyur. No big shops to dine and buy Poojai things.

Historic place. Everyone who visit thriukadaiyoor must visit. This is the house where rishi markandeyan lived from childhood which has been converted to temple.

Well maintained, gurukkal was very busy but helpful. The old lady, who sweeps the temple was very kind and helpful.

Markandeya a staunch devotee of Lord Siva always remembered Lord Siva and prayed incessantly. This place is one kilometre from Thirukadaiyur. Thanks
