one of the most dense tropical forest in india with least polluted air . A vast wild life reserve. Habitat of more than 200+ species of birds. Serene and beautiful climate.
One cannot go simply to gavi without proper knowledge. 15 vehicles is allowed per day to enter gavi from Aangamoozhi check post and have to exit the vallakkadavu range before 6 pm. So if you are planning to reach gavi book online and make the pass available for you. As my friends mom is a nurse over there we dont have problems to enter or roam around gavi. But outsiders have so much restrictions . They are guided by guides and they will show you only the common places in gavi. But if you roam independantly like us you would see the inner beauty of gavi with its beautiful climate. Main thing is you dont have to fear peoples over there as the population is less than 400 . But you have to fear wild animals . Elephants are the most troublemakers in gavi. If you are planning to visit gavi make it for a 3 day trip but the cost will be higher. I would definitely say that Gavi is worth going and one cant simple forget gavi as it is a better holiday destination.

Gavi Forest is one of the most outstanding locations in Kerala. Being a forest area and under Kerala Forest Dept the entry to this region is strictly restricted to limited no of vehicles in a day from Pathanamthitta District and vehicles are closely monitored. The road in the forest is not that good and so do not recommend going with personal vehicles if they are small cars.

Most important plastic banned area and Be A responsible Tourist if you are going to Gavi. Another tip is that being a tourist do not expect any activity to be done at Gavi and GO THERE FOR EXPERIENCING THE NATURE AS IT IS. Beware of wild elephants crossing you any time.

Look for packages that include Boating, Trekking and Safaris operated by Kerala Forest Department.
