Nice place for those who love adventure and trekking.
Recommended to take a jeep from bottom point to entry gate the path towards the view point is difficult to walk but throughout the way you can visualise a beautiful view of the entire place.

As the name suggest, there's a man-made water body (chira in malayalam) constructed at the bottom of the hill from of the famous wireless police station. The place is so scenic and spectacular. No entry fee or checking when visited. The remnants of old wireless station and a new building can be seen at the top along with the old wireless station.

The mountain makes for a great trek and the sunrise at the peak is worth the effort. Indeed, it was one among the most beautiful sunrises I’ve seen.

If you have a vehicle (SUV or a Bike) that is capable of off-roading, then you could take it to the peak without a hassle. As of Nov 2018, the roads are yet to be paved and there’s very loose gravel for most of the upward journey.

Ilaveezhapoonchira is a beautiful place to visit near Pala or Thodupuzha.
Nice place for off-roading. You can also take jeeps either from Melukavumattom or Kanjiramkavala to reach here. There you have to trek nearly 2km to reach the top at which you will get a beautiful site of Malankara dam.
New and old wireless stations of Police are located in the top.

Lot of families visit this place as a one day trip.

Place looks much beautiful and photographic on clear sky day and days with little rain.

A really beautiful place where one can connect well to nature .
There is a tea stall near the entrance run by an old guy he is fun to talk to .
It's an easy trek which offers a promising view of the valley and one can see malankara dam from the top .

Best place for off road trekking. The view from the top of the hills is mesmerizing. Its Idukki kottayam border village almost 6500 ft from sealevel. It is less crowded and peaceful place. A less explored one. We visited there at monsoon season. The mist and wind made us felt like it was 6am even at 1 pm.One can spend aleast an hour there. The view of meenachilar from the hill top is beautiful. Jeeps are available from Moonilavu.

"Ila-veezha-poonjira" means pond of flowers where leaves do not fall.One of the channel of periyar river make its own unique design in the landscape.The landscape view from the hilltop is spectacular and breath taking and is perfect one-day picnic spot for nature lovers

Ilaveezhapoonchira is a tourist destination place which is located in Melukavu village. It is a part of Kottayam district and near Kanjar. It is surrounded by three enchanting hillocks - Mankunnu, Kodayathoormala and Thonippara. And also its a trekking place. If we went on the morning it looks awesome with full cloudy. Must visit this place to experience the beauty of nature.

One of the known hill stations of Kerala and is located in Kottayam district. The nearby attractions are Illikkal Kallu hill station and view point, Kattikayam Waterfalls.

The roads to Ilaveezhapoonjira are in good condition from Kanjiramkavala junction. There are some locally owned tea shops and a DTPC owned and locally operated Guest House at this place. The view from this hill station is very beautiful. The lovely cold Breeze will freshen you up. The birds eye view of Malankara Dam reservoir is very nice. The police satellite communication center is also located here where it is not advisable during times of thunder storms.

You will get an amazing view from the top, only thing pull backward is climbing the hill, but the view is worth it.
