Sabarimala Traditional Trekking Path

It's an amazing experience. Give it a try atleast one time in your life. Lots of shops are there for hydrating yourself. Jan 2024 Kerala Forest department allowed to walk upto 5:30 PM. You need to stay in viri.

This is a trekking path through real forest. There are two mountains named Azhutha and Karimala, which you will find really difficult to cross if you are not physically fit. There are shops and places to take rest and sleep all over the path. We normally starts from Erumely in the morning and night stays in the forest near to Karimala. Next morning resumes the journey and can be reached at temple before afternoon.

This is one of the trecking place every one should visit at least once in their lifetime. One thing is because of the traditional practice and one more thing is that this trecking place has awesome views.

This traditional pathway to sabarimala is very different from normal way. Its around 40+ km to sannidhanam.

Find the way of life,please don’t spoil the forest with plastic items.

It's a good experience. I already gone 4 times. Those who are physically fit in nature can complete in one day. The procedure is as follows:-
01 wake at 0400hrs.
02 Complete routine and visits Ayyappa temple, starts walking.
03 Normally difficult at the route of Karimala because you have to cross 07 hills during the ways.
Normally it's can complete 30 minutes breaks during the trekking. But it extremely difficult for those don't have any preparation, especially those who have taken preparation 30 days prior. That is jogging, physical exercise, running and cardio exercise etc. At the ends estimate time of arrival at pampa is around 1700hrs.
Caution:- Those who are not take preparation can be cause muscle sprain, unpper limp disorder etc.

It's a lush green forest with healing forest breeze and freezing brooks and rivulats crisscrossing the holy river pamba.However the rare animal views and experiences also adds to its beauty. Loved this place and a blessing living here..

For those who are not aware of Sabarimala Ayyappa temple....to reach this temple, one had to reach Pamba river in Kerala. From pamba, one has to walk around 3.3 kms traditional trekking across the jungle. This temple is not open for the devotees 365 days. It will be opened seasonally. One can visit from Mid-november to mid-January. It will be opened in and around 3-5 auspicious days in the rest of the months. You can watch the devotees chanting Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa while climbing the hill.
