Good food but small place

It's a very small hotel/canteen/ mess whatever you want to call it, but the food was very nice. I always wanted to try a homely local meal and this was just perfect. Place looks very shabby but remember "don't judge a book by it's cover". You have to grab a seat in the line. Meal is served on banana leaf. You can ask out of 3 options- holige oota or rotti oota or chapati oota. They serve 3 different kinds of palya/sabji, rice, sambar/rasam, Curd. The holige is served with coconut milk and was very heart warming. It's a very small hotel, I'm not sure how hygiene is maintained. But the food definitely attracted so many and that also tells why the place is always crowded

Shikaripur is not a busy place. It is a sleepy taluk headquarters. It's majority of the population is mainly poor farmers and labourers.

In this context, if the Congress government opens an Indira Canteen here, I am sure it will close down in just a single day.

Full means it is truly FULL MEALS. They serve 5-6 types of Roti, like Chapati, Ragi Roti, Jowar Roti etc

The vegetables are of 5-6 varieties.

Then a Rice Bath like Pulao is served.

After that, White Rice plus Sambar, Rasam and Curds are served.

The servings are with smiling face.

You get plenty of green vegetables.

So it is truly a FULL MEALS.

And what about the cost ?.. Just ₹50/, yes, ONLY FIFTY RUPEES.

That is why I said, the Indira Canteen will close down in just a single day.

If you are going to visit Vaidya Narayan Murthy in this route, don't hesitate to stop here for your food.

Other plus points...

It is in a by-lane, hence there is not much traffic or crowd.

You can park your vehicle peacefully.

Minus points....

The place is not all that HiFi. But that is OK, because you can't expect such a restaurant in these types of places.
