This shop holds a special place in history as the first to prepare Mysore Pak for the King of Mysore.
Conveniently located near the palace, it's situated on a busy road making parking a bit challenging.
We sampled their famous Mysore Pak and it truly lives up to its reputation, it melts in your mouth.
We also tried the Ghee Milk Mysore Pak, Doodh Peda and Dharwad Peda all of which were delightful.
Despite the rush, the service was efficient and friendly. Note that the original shop only accepts cash, so if you prefer to pay by card or UPI you can visit their new shop next door. Overall, I highly recommend trying their Mysore Pak for a taste of tradition and quality.

A must-visit spot for sweet lovers, where they let you sample their treats! I tried their Kaju Mysore Pak, Badam Pak, and Ghee Pak — each one was so delicious that I couldn’t decide which to choose. In the end, I went with the Badam Pak and Kaju Pak, and I think these two are the best!

They are the first to prepare Mysore Pak and serve it to the King of Mysore. The shop is close to the palace.
1. Parking - limited parking space available
2. Food taste - the Mysore Pak was good and it was melting while eating.
3. Service - I visited during Dussehra time and there was a huge rush in the shop.
The Mysore pak was really good
The service is not that good because the shol was really crowded
The mysore pak is really soft and fresh made
Which cost 600/- per kg.
It is a must try item.

Overall, a good shop to buy sweets especially Mysore Pak

If you're a fan of Mysore Pak, this sweet shop is a must-visit. The shop has been a local favorite for years, and it’s easy to see why. The Mysore Pak here is simply exceptional—rich, buttery, and perfectly sweet, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that speaks to traditional craftsmanship.

Finally visited Guru Sweet Mart and tried their famous Mysore Pak, and it was amazing!

The pure ghee Mysore Pak is just amazing. It melts in your mouth, and you can really taste the richness of the ghee. It’s a real treat! The Vanaspati Mysore Pak is also really good. It’s got the perfect amount of sweetness, it's slightly harder and crumbles nicely in your mouth. I actually like the slightly firmer texture, though I know some people might not like that.

They have other types of Mysore Paks too, like badam, jaggery, ghee and milk, kaju, and dry fruit, but the pure ghee and vanaspati versions are the ones you should definitely try.

What makes Mysore Pak over here so sweet is not just the ghee, but also the story behind it. The Mysore Pak was invented by Kakasura Madappa, a royal chef in the Mysore Palace, for the king Krishnaraja Wodeyar the Fourth. The king loved it and asked him if it had a name. The chef said no, and the king decided to name it "Mysore Pak". So Kakasura Madappa started this shop "Guru Sweet Mart" and it feels like tasting a bit of history every time you take a bite of the Mysore Pak.

Current Price:
Ghee Mysore Pak: 600 per kg.
Vanaspati Mysore Pak: 400 per kg.

So if you're visiting Mysore, do visit Guru Sweet Mart to try the authentic Mysore Pak.

Guru Sweet Mart: Where Mysore Pak Was Born

Stepping into the iconic Guru Sweet Mart in Mysore, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement knowing that I was standing at the very birthplace of Mysore Pak, right in the same shop started by Kakasura Madappa in 1930s.

A visit to Mysore feels incomplete without experiencing the allure of the Birthplace of Mysore Pak - Guru Sweet Mart.

The shop boasts a wide array of fresh sweets and savory delights, ensuring there's something to please every palate. However, the true star of the show is undoubtedly the soft Mysore Pak, akin to a culinary treasure of sweet gold. The unparalleled freshness, tenderness, and original taste of Mysore Pak found here are unmatched by any other.

Bucket list visit to the inventors of this Royal sweet in the 1930s for the Maharaja at the time, Mysore Pak. This shop itself is approximately 70years old.

Try both the warm soft as well as the harder crunchy type. Both are fantastic. I took some home as well. It lasts easily 4 weeks with no issues.

A divine sweet in its origin ⭐⭐

Comparatively the most early known sweet shop famous for Mysore Pak in all of Mysuru.

I came to know about this shop on a few Vlogs and went to explore this gem. Locates on the Devaraja Market amidst the busy streets and roads, a very rushing ambience though.

Tried out their famous Hot Mysore Pak. Yes, you heard it right. It was warm enough to eat but every bite of it gave such a high that never allows you to resist.

Rich in ghee and neatly packed it was aesthetic to watch them pack it.

Minimum order value here is 100 rupees and this is reasonable for 100 grams they provide.

To sum it up, a worthy spot to try this Mysuru’s very own sweet ❤

Guru Sweet Mart in Mysore left me impressed during my recent visit. Their introduction of the iconic Mysore Pak in 1935 speaks volumes about their legacy. The Mysore Pak is a delightful experience, achieving a perfect blend of sweetness and richness that practically melts in your mouth.
The variety of sweets they offer is a definite must-try, boasting freshness and exceptional taste. The friendly and helpful staff ensured a pleasant experience, efficiently packing my selection for take-home enjoyment.
Despite its small size, the shop is impeccably clean and well-maintained. I highly recommend Guru Sweet Mart to all lovers of Indian sweets or those seeking a culinary adventure. However, be prepared for potential parking challenges, as this popular spot can get quite busy.

This is the mother of all Mysore Pak..... You should get the Ghee Mysore Pak which is really delicious. You also get the Vanaspati Mysore Pak which is a bit hard but the best is to go for the Ghee Mysore Pak. They totally have 7 varieties of Mysore Pak.

Overhyped. Taste was not great for waiting an hour. Owner was rude at starting but by the end was sweet enough.

The OG Mysuru Pak outlet... Can't go wrong ... The name ...the legacy... Special is made of ghee... Highly recommended... I love eating them on a go... It basically dissolves inside one's mouth... Moderately sweetened... Ten days without refrigeration, the sweet can be stored, as per the staff... Parking near the outlet is a little bit busy... But who cares...
